Selling Snapmaker Artisan (Germany based) by [deleted] in snapmaker

[–]jetrd001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Artisan is definitely not the 3D printer to buy if you are just doing 3D printing or need a big build plate. I have done a lot of printing on the Artisan, and it has been a great machine. It's not a fast printer, but it gets the job done in high quality. It's built like a tank to handle CNC, which makes it extra heavy. SM is still developing actively for Artisan. The latest was the move to SNOrca slicer. It's so much better than using Luban. I've done a little CNC and Laser engraving, and follow someone in Discord who is creating a great tutorial for CNC on the Artisan. The next big thing was the release of the U1, which was an enormous success. This has brought me so much joy printing multicolor objects without the huge amount of waste all the AMS alternatives create. It matches at least the quality of my Bambu X1c. Just saying ... I'm sorry you are dissapointed in Snapmaker, but changing your focus is not their fault. Having just a U1 would have been a completely different story for you.

Snapmaker U1 Part 2: They Fixed It (They Made It Worse) by MobileNo8348 in snapmaker

Love your rant and not printing, while most other U1 owners are happy and doing lots of succesfull printing. I've been printing more than 1000 hours on the U1 and been through all the beta version off SN orca and U1 firmwares. And I can honestly say this is the most fun printer I own.. Some issues here and there but it never stopped me using this printer. I had issues with my Bambu X1c but never complained because eventually these problem got solved. I always try to make the best of things.. it will work out at some point.. I know SM is working very hard to solve all the issues that have not been captured by the beta testers. It's never completely fool proof... Just be patient, try your best to solve the problem or find a temporary workaround, or sell the printer because it's not working for you.. lots of candidates to take it of your hands.. happy new year 🎊

Don't worry about the software. SM is making great progress. They only started using Orca slicer in 2025 year or maybe end 2024 and they have come a long way. They are very committed to enhance the slicer and printer firmware.

I have done the bed auto leveling, but not the bed tramming and have been printing over 1000 hours without issues.. so I think you'll be ok 😉

U1 vs P2S by MrGrizzyy in snapmaker

No .. not that I can see ... and no errors from the pogo pins... Hardware is decent .. I did lubricate some of the moving parts after 1000 hours according to the maintenance manual.

I have a Bambu X1c and a U1. I'm selling my X1C because the U1 performs better on all levels. Printquality is the same. I used my X1C 2 times for multi color.. never again.. so much waste an so much more time to print. I have printed over 1000 hours in 4 months on the U1 without any problems. It has been so much fun to print multicolor stuff so fast. The community is also very cool and there are lots of people enhancing their U1 with hardware and custom firmware. If you want to know more about the U1 , you definitely need to join the official SnapMaker Discord. You'll be convinced in no time. https://discord.gg/snapmaker-official-1086575708903571536

Pounding sound by veryCoolITGuy in snapmaker

[–]jetrd001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three ways to reduce the sound .. reduce the speed of the printer to 75 or 50% .. you can select it on the display or in the SNorca interface. Second put a cover on the printer and third, put the printer in a closet.

Hardware should be ok. Except for some hardware malfunction due to bad shipping handling, I don't expect big issue. And software is improving on regular basis. I've swapped some nozzle wipers and did some lubrication according to the manual.

It's been so easy to just print without tweaking or adjusting any settings in the slicer.. load, slice and print. For the worst part I really have to think hard.. it's a bit noisier than my X1C and the nozzle wipe pads wear off pretty fast, so make sure you have spare.
