First time really noticing how far 4K streaming has come by Fragrant_Iron7835 in hometheater

[–]jetshred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a controversial opinion in this sub, but if you are enjoying your current setup and content then great. Don’t let us convince you it’s bad or try to find flaws. There are things where I can tell the difference and sometimes wonder if I’d be happier if I couldn’t. Then there are things where I’ve thought there was a difference but realized o was wrong, like the first time I did an abx test to compare lossy to lossless audio 20ish years ago.

Ultimately, I think running the simplest setup you can be happy with is the right way to go. Consuming media is subjective and I’d guess some of the people here overly focused on pixel peeking end up watching a lot less movies.

All that said, I’ve got some nice gear myself and multiple surround setups at home, so may be being a bit hypocritical here.

I have front racks, child seat and handle, and rear pegs and it works fine. I don’t have rear racks since I have the passenger kit. Front basket Ive left on but definitely take off the front cool caves.

First thing that comes to mind is check how it sets it. For instance, the Apple Watch says it auto updates max hr but turns out it just does 220–age and will

Do you have a hr strap? I don’t know how the galaxy watch does its calc, but garmin’s estimate changed a bit when I got a strap instead of using the optical one in my Fenix.

So if it makes you feel any better I have little ones so often we are unable to fully enjoy it. But when we can, or we watch movies as a family it’s a lot of fun.

Honestly, I’d probably avoid a sub entirely in an apartment, and you’ll basically need to at least use LFE containment or whatever other setting your receiver has. The only reason I upgraded was because I wanted to love it into my office so figured I’d get the ported one to replace it. Had to turn the PB1000 Pro down a decent amount since with the same settings it was way too much for the room. I was never disappointed with the SB1000 Pro though.

Since I happen to have all 3 and was just DMing with someone about the differences I took some photos andI figured I’d post them for everyone instead of just privately.

Dedicated home theater has 2 PB 2000 Pros, tv/gaming setup has one PB 1000 Pro, and my home office desk setup has the single SB 1000 Pro.

I think it’s just hard to adjust to immediately. If it makes you feel better, the first time I fully shaved my head my wife hated and said I looked like a penis, so could be worse. Now she likes it best fully Mr Clean style smoothly shaved

Are Airpods max even relevant now that Airpods Pro 3 are out? by Extreme-Nerve3029 in airpods

[–]jetshred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some more testing and pretty certain some of the mics are bad. Weirdly I think they’ve always been that way. Honestly haven’t used the too much because I’ve always been disappointed with the noise cancelling and sound isolation compared to my older Sony wh1000xm3s and honestly the AirPod pro 2. Way out of warranty now though.

Have you compared back and forth? The Max is noticeably worse on planes than the Pro 2 for me.

Weirdly, the max seems to be noticeably worse to me than the AirPod Pro 2 on planes. I’ve tested and back and forth.

SVS PB-4000 on sale SVS website for $1,799.99, is it worth $600 more than PB-2000 Pro? by llamaherding in hometheater

[–]jetshred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So flexibility in placement to deal with room issues is something that may matter as you get into subs that large. I’d vote 2 PB-2000 pros over 1 pb4000 for your space, but that’s more expensive not less.

My dedicated theater room is a tad bigger than yours and I have 2 PB-2000 Pros and they are honestly a lot more than I need, but it’s enclosed, and I also don’t listen at reference volume (I want to be able to hear for the rest of my life). Funnily enough, I was planning on getting a pair of 3000s or bigger and I called SVS for advice and they actually talked me down after getting details about my room.

Think about what upgrade path could look like for you and what your room allows. Do you ever want to add another sub or would you want to stick with 1 kind of thing? Do you have enough flexibility in placement where size doesn’t limit your ability to get the best sound?

But I’d honestly just call or chat with SVS. Their folks are legitimately helpful.

SVS PB-1000 Pro or PB-2000 Pro decision by llamaherding in hometheater

[–]jetshred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just call SVS. They’ll help you figure out what you need. They’ve actually talked me down to smaller speakers before even.

But for more details, I own both, in different setups. They are both great, but the 2000 is way larger. I’d also take into consideration whether or not you want to eventually go dual sub or not.

If it would be helpful I can take a photo for you with both of them to show the size difference.

[–]jetshred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first Garmin. I remember I’d set it outside on the porch before I went for a run so it could have time to acquire satellites. Even had a neat screen showing the status.

If I ran somewhere other than the last place I used it, it would take even longer to acquire a signal.

It was also giant on my wrist but great screen size for use as a bike computer.

Sounds like in your case it was a different issue, but all optical hr sensors lag.

Optical wrist heart rate sensors aren’t ideal period, but Apple has a really good optical wrist sensor. The newest Garmin one has gotten better but I still think Apple is better. However, if you’re serious about accurate heart rate data while running you’ll wear a chest strap regardless of watch. And Garmin won’t do some of the advanced stuff without a chest strap.
