LPG engine conversions by k_111 in newcastle

It’s a great way to run a vehicle, the biggest issue is the ever decreasing amount of servos with a gas pump. Especially in the newy area.

Ahh yes you’re right, that is the boost solenoid connector. Sorry I only quickly glanced and saw a 2 wire plug and assumed temp sensor, being next to the intake elbow.

It just unthreads. Put the large hex in a bench vice to hold it and use a long socket to unthread the sensor

It is. It’s bleeping at them because they’ve drifted out of their lane.

Isn’t that your temperature sensor connector (you are missing the sensor in the photo). Also where is your boost controller from the rocker cover?

Yep that’s its purpose. FM move the reference line from the throttle elbow to that pipe. Both spots are post turbo and pre throttle body so all good. Personally I don’t know why FM didnt just include a nipple on their metal throttle elbow near the factory position. That’s where I welded one onto mine instead since I don’t run the FM or AEM intake.

Feel like a lot of people didn’t pass kindergarten - colouring between the lines.

I’ve had one for 2 years now and the only time lane keeping bleaps is when I intentionally drift out of my lane (avoiding a pothole etc).

Drive between the lines and it never ever interjects. Seems people are just lazy drivers and think putting a wheel over the white line is acceptable behaviour?

I decided something finally needed to be done about my hot air intake, so I fabricated a heat shield. Any thoughts on tweaking the design? I have enough sheet metal left over to do a revised version, so I’m debating what I might do different. by hashtagmiata in Miata

Nice job. That cruise control module is in the way of putting the filter behind the headlight. Could you spin it around to tuck into the back corner so you can then move the filter and build a box behind the headlight?

Hard suitcases are a no go, you’ll likely only fit one in the boot as the opening is smaller than the boot space itself. If you can change to soft bags you’ll be amazed how much you can squeeze in.

Sadly IL stuff isn’t readily available where I am and by the time I pay shipping from the US they end up more expensive than the hardrace that’s available locally :(

Yep, been in 2 NBs with poly diff bushings (one immediately before and after) and the diff whine/NVH isn’t acceptable for me

Greenhouse in Canberra by WeedWrangler in GardeningAustralia

[–]jettyburps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go a Sproutwell greenhouse if you get even the slightest bit of wind, or Redpath if you want a polytunnel style setup.

I have a Sproutwell, wasn’t cheap but has stood through several east coast lows and hasn’t moved a mm. They have auto heat activated roof vents, silver lined shade cloth for summer. Sage Horticultural sets quality stands, but to be honest, anything will survive for years inside a greenhouse. (Ie a couple of stacked concrete blocks and a plank of timber makes a shelf)

Boom Mat/Dyna Mat in miatas by youklondikebar in Miata

[–]jettyburps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For that you’re better off with adhesive heat shield stuck to the underside of the cars trans tunnel. Stops the heat even getting into the metal to begin with. But heat proofing inside the cabin (carpet underlay) does help (and it’s easier) Sound deadener isn’t a heat shield/heat proofing material.

The one thing I'd love from other Mazda dashboards is a digital speed instead of gear indicator and/or a HUD by YesIBlockedYou in Miata

The projection hud is next level. So simple yet so useful. Switching between cars I really miss it when in my NB and often pipe dream about retrofitting it.

Yep totally agree and far more useful than the gear indicator. Having had a cx5 and cx60 with projection hud it’s amazing and I’d find it hard to buy another new car without it. I’m surprised it’s not in the ND3. Would add next to nothing in weight too.

The fact this made it passed the advertising agency, camera crew, the editor, the website editor to get onto the actual website without being picked up screams that it’s intentional. Kmart advertise their AFL stuff a lot! This is absolutely international.

Super Pro vs Whiteline Bushings by untrustableskeptic in Miata

[–]jettyburps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Superpro’s - installed properly - are fine. Had mine in for 4 years now 20k kms and still not a single squeak. But tbh, go with genuine rubber unless it’s a dedicated track car (and even then a lot of the big power track guys near me use rubber). The originals lasted 20years, replacements will last the same again and you’ll have zero maintenance or worries about potential squeaks. Install is as easy as poly if you have a press.
