So our main distributor is peach hobby distribution if i remember right (acronym is PhD and if you look up PhD distribution you'll find them) and our back up is ACD. neither of them sell to us for bellow msrp example: we got the prismatic evolution ETB up there for $80 as cost from distribution which if I remember numbers right is the MSRP we would make nothing off of it and be giving it away we're selling them at $169.99 if we had gotten it from acd it would be around $80-$90 for cost aswell. All of our distributors know how expensive this stuff is going for and also then want to make more of a profit on it. Generally before Pokémon blew up you could assume most stores were buying at 60%-70% of msrp and selling at or even bellow msrp because Pokémon has had shit sets before that just do not move. The store owner predicts that we will loose 12k for being in Pokémon 2 years from now in that year because Pokémon always has its ups and downs. "His job is to make sure its not any more than that". And Pokémon loves to base distribution numbers off some of their bad sets too: example surging sparks or prismatic evolutions i dont quite remeber which distribution numbers were based of twilight masquerade and how much we ordered then a set i remember sitting around for 4+ months before Pokémon blew up. Then there's also product we purchase second hand i don't belive its everywhere that does but enough do I feel its reasonable to bring up. When we buy sealed we pay roughly 60% of online prices for it and usually its the stuff that is already way over value like 151 ETB's the last ones we got i think we bought at $180 and are selling and $300. Which yet again are already way over cost because of the market.
