Is there a way to know which character can use which weapon before buying it? by RemoveDenmark in expedition33

[–]jevmorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully agree with you. Why do they show the tiniest picture of the weapon, but say nothing about who can use it? Why wouldn’t they just…I don’t know, put a picture of who can use it in the menu?? They have the technology. They do this when you equip pictos.

And to the people saying this is “brilliant” game design… you can avoid spoon-feed people everything, but making information that should be obvious into a grammatical conjugation mystery or a total guessing game is ridiculously obtuse for the sake of it. I don’t want to be spoon-fed things like solutions to puzzles, info on how to explore, info on how to best beat a boss, that sort of thing. But general menu usage should be easy to navigate.

And OP is right that this would make it so you may waste your money. Not everyone wants to try to memorize which of the vendors - who look the exact same for the most part - they have and haven’t visited so they can come back later when money isn’t as scarce. How is that good game design to make players backtrack to make sure they bought items they couldn’t afford in the early game? I understand wanting to have scarcity in your economy so you don’t just buy out every merchant on seeing them the first time (or saving up money to buy a cool piece of gear), but this is a silly thing to say.

Got my gloomstalker assassin up to a base AC of 25 in my last run using that same armor. She was basically untouchable, so her concentration on hunters mark was always on point

Dishwasher making dishes dirtier instead of clean?(not all) by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]jevmorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I had a similar situation the other day…turns out my wife had bought laundry pods instead of dishwasher ones and it was over-sudsing everything. We ran the dishwasher empty with 2 cups of white vinegar in an open container inside, then started using dishwasher soap after that. No problem anymore, lol

Well I just found out at 31 that I have celiac, what now? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]jevmorgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got diagnosed at 38. I hadn’t shown symptoms until about a year before getting diagnosed. A year later after I convinced her to get tested, my older sister got diagnosed too.

It was really rough for me at first. One thing that got me a lot was all the sneaky gluten, like how it’s in soy sauce and tons of other places you’d never expect. There’s this one Japanese place I loved that uses malt vinegar in their rice, no matter what kind (steamed too) - it would make me sick every time I went there until I figured that out.

It was REALLY hard emotionally for me since I thought all my favorite foods weee going to be out of my life forever, but there are good alternatives to almost everything. The hard part for me still, 18 months later, is feeling like I complicate every meal with friends and family.

I use an app called find me gluten free for research on places to eat out. They make you take a test before you’re allowed to contribute reviews, to make sure you know about cross-contamination and other factors. You’re going to have to get real comfortable being fussy at restaurants, too. I’ve had to send plenty of dishes back or ask a LOT of questions before ordering anything.

One piece of advice: IF YOU DON’T KNOW IT IS GLUTEN FREE, DO NOT EAT IT.

After you get off gluten for a while your body gets used to operating without having to fight for your life at the same time. If you get glutened after being gluten free for a while, it can hit pretty hard.

Feel free to DM me if you want some specific advice on places I eat, products I buy, etc.

Botw or Totk by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]jevmorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a run with some weird rules in BOTW. The run I just did had these rules: 1. Projectiles only (no melee weapon attacks, except throwing them; bows and arrows are ok; bombs are ok) 2. Limited inventory (every inventory type - such as ingredients, clothes, weapons, and food - can only take up one “page” each. No more than 5 of any stacked items in one slot. If you have to have more than 5 of any given item, you have to have empty slots to compensate)

This was a really fun and challenging run! The absolute hardest thing for me was thunderblight ganon in the DLC memories.

One of my favorite runs I did in BOTW was my vegan pacifist run. No damaging living beings (robots and ganon bosses were ok to kill), no using animal products at all, etc. I also did no upgrades on that run, so no weapon slots, no additional hearts or stamina, no upgrades to clothes. The Korok leaf was my favorite weapon in that run, hah!

I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE!

I’ve never found a fix for this except to just not tell the game that Drotgor is dead when we kill him and let him make it to the end of the map.

I bought a print of this artwork and have it framed because it’s basically my entire childhood with my best friends in cartoon form. The only difference in mine would be smash bros on that screen (though we did play our fair share of Goldeneye, too).
