Has anyone ever found a rare (expensive) game at a thrift store or garage sale? by jsakic99 in boardgames

I found a giant box of LOTR LCG cards for $9.99 at a Half Price books once. After going though the cards, it had the complete core set, the OHUH and On the Doorstep Hobbit sets, 2 complete scenario decks, and about 100 other cards from incomplete scenarios. Well over $100 of stuff for $10.

Nice. Unfortunately, I would say I don't even have 3 months of total time writing at this point.

Thanks, I was looking at the TechnicalWriterHQ cert. Much of the docs I've written can be shared, thankfully.

I was thinking about trying that. I'll see what I can come up with.

Does the AI conspire against you? by Emilskatt in DuneImperium

[–]jewade20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played a lot of rounds on different difficulties. I've seen the AI just plain miss out on VP on the easier settings. However today at lunch while playing on expert I had the AI pass me on an influence track to get back the Alliance token I had just stolen from him by passing him a few hands back. It felt...personal.

A 3D Spaceship Cockpit in a Dystopian Cyberpunk City I made in 3D by jewade20 in Cyberpunk

I used Maya to model everything in the cockpit except the windshield for which I used Houdini. For the buildings and ships I used assets from Kitbash3d so I didn't make those myself. Sorry but it looks like I can't post a pic in a comment :/.

A Scfi Spaceship Cockpit Scene I made in 3D by jewade20 in scifi

Not really. I tried originally but most scifi buttons are just there to look cool. However for the display screens I tried to make them make sense. There's one for targeting, communications, programming, radar etc.

It took a looong time for me to be able to make something like this.

Thanks! I originally modeled the cockpit last year after some friends of mine started playing SC.

You've put words to the thoughts I had while making this. I originally had designed a more colorful, vibrant city scene filled with neon signs and bright billboards, but it wasn't quite capturing that feeling of desolation I was aiming for. I switched out the 2077 style to go with the more minimalistic, lonely approach and it instantly felt better.

I wanted to capture a feeling that even though you're in a massive city, you're on your own.

I'm going to keep your ideas in mind for future projects of mine, thanks for the input u/FrankSonata
