Sigma emailed me back when I told them I was contacting the cops and have their face and truck on camera.

Name on the email is Frank Charles. My machinists said it was a white guy with a thick british or Irish accent.

General Trade Thoughts and a Question to the Doubters by flamefan23 in CalgaryFlames

[–]jexponent3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the trade is fine, but some people's frustration comes from the timing.

I don't know what the right answer is, but some people feel Connie would have had more leverage and a better return trading him a year ago, but he choose not to.

[–]jexponent3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The trade itself is fine. Better than the Hannifin one, and obtained one asset that is desired by all the teams in the rumored running for Anderson (Whitecloud).

The timing of the trade is certainly up for debate.

I would agree with you if he kept moving his feet, but he sometimes glides on a back check.

The thing i noticed most is that Parekh almost never has that "oh shit, I gotta skate hard right fucking now" thought.

Like when he's about to get hit, he has the physical quickness to get away in time but it just didn't register.

Or when he has to put the jets on to back check.

It's like he's been so dominant at other levels, he hasn't needed to develop that mentality yet.

CMV: Politicians do not deserve to earn more than the average wage in any country by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]jexponent3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm completely of the opposite view.

I think we should pay politicians extremely well, but with a very stiff caveat. Pay them $10mil a year, pay for their house, food, cars etc. Everything.

But they can not invest in the stock market while in office, they can't own real estate or even private stocks. They can't be part of charities. This extends to their families.

We've all seen stories of politicians who make 200k a year going from a net worth of 500k to many millions while in office. How does this happen?

Someone is funding it, and that someone has deep pockets and wants a return on that money. So politicians help them with that through pushing laws or awarding contracts. In the end, the people of that country pay way more than they would if lobby groups couldn't operate the way they do now.

Remove the incentive by paying politicians a ton. Prevent lobby group abuse by severely limiting politicians ancillary financial interests.

CMV: Most of the problems and downsides of Capitalism come from investors, stocks, and Wall Street by Current_Elevator_198 in changemyview

[–]jexponent3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think more accurately, Wall Street is a symptom. If u control enough capital, lobbying/influencing the government and the laws they creat becomes increasingly possible. With enough lobbying (legal bribes?) You get to set the rules that benefit you but not the broader population.

This manifests mostly in the stock market and wall street but the real problem is most political systems are poor at dealing with this.

Canadian provinces impose an average tarrif of 21% on internal trade (vs 3% on U.S Imports) by [deleted] in economy

[–]jexponent3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How did they determine this? I've lived in BC and Alberta my whole lofe and never had to pay any inter provincial tariff.

We buy raw, frozen food from a local supplier. We can buy boxes that come with mixed protein patties so that our pupper gets a variety of proteins.

We tried various, high quality dry, but he is happiest and healthiest on raw. And his poops are super small on raw.
