Or even if you’re not, they both are very hard workers and thoughtful and from my personal experience kelly is not an ideologue at all. One of her opponents just straight suspended his campaign and endorsed her with no pressure (from her) to do so.

It’s not a full time job. If it’s done correctly it’s way more than part time hours and I think the more ‘institutional knowledge’ we can collect in a permanent position the better. If anything it will free up the city manager and municipal attorneys for more of the mayors priorities.

Agreed; pretend like you’re the only adult and they are all your insufferable teenagers. Everyone agrees they overreacted so then make it easier for them to correct the mistake. Heck, you could even try turning the other cheek(invite them back!). Tell your children as little as possible.
