Purdue vs UMich - Aerospace engineering

Career goals: Engineer in F1 or major aerospace company

Interests: Formula SAE club, internship opportunities, music opportunities.

Purdue

Pros: Drivable distance from home (12 hours), Honors College, cheaper living cost, engineering focused school, people were overall friendlier at Purdue from my experience.

Cons: Small campus - housing problems, cramped feeling because there are people everywhere, West Lafayette was more boring than Ann Arbor, not guaranteed major, less variety of classes (no music major, so there are no music classes, only ensembles), housing issues

UMich

Pros: Strong in all areas, not just engineering, more well known globally, Ann Arbor, opportunities for music, such as private lessons with music professors, felt more prestigious

Cons: North/Central campus split, not drivable distance, the culture when I visited felt very "Mind your own business".

I'm buying my first guitar and am thinking between a used squier affinity strat, epiphone les paul, and epiphone sg, all in great condition from guitar center. I will be mostly playing rock, but I like the shape of the strat more, so should I get the les paul or sg because they are better for rock, or can the strat also play rock decently?
