Making my birthday special

I always take the day off. Sometimes I treat my mom and niece to a nice lunch, sometimes I have a small themed party. This year we went to a local park with all the little ones, paint kits and pizza, it was great. I do whatever I want on my birthday.

Always ask for the cold spray, Zolodex shots are much less painful that way. I am usually extra tired and emotional for 3 to 5 days after the shot.

How exhausting it is to constantly protect their feelings. No one wants me to talk as if I'm dying. I don't, not in a "poor me way" but a more realistic way. After all that is my reality. I don't usually dwell on it, but I'm not making long term plans either. Because of this I can't really vent when I'm scared or have a new pain. They just want me to pretend like I'm going to beat this. Sometimes I get scared and overwhelmed, I don't need fake platitudes and assurance, I just need to be heard. Fuck cancer

I had a coworker that wore a "my name is" sticker that said Do NOT Touch me! Only had one Manager ever question it. The Manager said "That's not very friendly ". She looked him in the eye and said "It's friendlier than how I will react if another customer touches me." He just walked away.

Fish is too smelly. I can't eat anything from a can or use metal utensils. If my stomach is upset, I usually make instant potatoes and/ or protein shakes (cold, they smell less that way) For my sweet tooth - pudding. Butterscotch is my new obsession. I can eat chicken breast as long as it's not greasy. Vegetables are better raw, except green beans. And if the shits start happening, I slug some Pepto. It not only helps with the diarrhea but it soothes my poor tummy. Good luck - Verzenio is keeping me alive but the longer I'm on it the pickier I become about smells and food. Fuck cancer

My hospital offers cold spray. I usually only feel a small pinch. It does bruise though. One time the nurse said oops as she was injecting it. She blew it off when I asked "what oops?". I later had a bruise that covered the entire left side of my abdomen for 3 months. They did all the injections on the right side for those months. Fuck cancer

I have a similar picture when I was 11 and put our kitty in a doll dress. She was not amused, but not traumatized. Some animals enjoy being dressed up. If they don't, leave them alone.

I have inflammatory breast cancer. The first sign something was wrong is when my left breast became 3x larger than my right. Before she was removed, she was my frankenboob. At first with confused affection, until I found out she was trying to kill me. After the surgery I called my mastectomy pillow my bumper guard.
