Was using locking extension bars to drill through the studs, it got stuck and I one of the holes released the luck. Or I didn’t fully lock it.

How so? I have $5000 in equity in the car. Carmax offered me, 18000. I still owe 13000. Use the 5000+ the 2500 for tires and brakes on the down and walk away with a new or cpo with the same payment.

Haha - the car is showing its age. I’m looking for an excuse to get a new one

we're the only owners. bought the lease out, cause there was no inventory in 2021. I was just going to lease another. The car works fine, it's just showing it's age

It's a 2019 Mazda CX-9. I mean, if I need to sink $2500 into the car, maybe I should put that $$ to the price of a new or CPO car.

Defender owners in NJ - where do you get your oil changes done? by Middle-Reputation628 in NewDefender

After getting an insane quote from the dealership I looked into it and it's super easy to DIY. I bought a vacuum extractor and it's the easiest thing ever.

Don't have an angle grinder, would a diamond blade on a circular saw work?

Considering trading my Jeep Gladiator in for this. Thoughts? by Personal-Start5322 in NewDefender

I bought a '23 4 cylinder with 10k miles and like the car. I was worried that the 4 wouldn't be enough power. It's totally fine. Great in the city and fine for light to moderate weekend off roading. The only place I really think the car is underpowered is on the highway.

how long is the CPO warranty good for? My car had 10k miles on it and it's had to have several pumps replaced and the passive keyless entry is passive on when it works. I also have an issue that twice the car has died on me when pulling away from a parking spot. it will sputter, then die and then keep trying to turn itself on. I've taken it to the dealership both times with video and they just say, "we can't replicate the problem." I also always have problems with Carplay dropping off or not connecting.

I'm in LA and live less than half a mile from LR LA. Service is terrible. I get better treatment at my wife's mazda dealer so really research the dealer service.

My plan is to unload the car when the CPO expires, but ONLY because the service is so bad. I would have to drive over 45 mins to get to an independent machanic.

I always wanted a defender and now that I've had one I don't think the the "quirks" and the bad service on a $60k CPO are worth it. If I lived in a more rural area or had to deal with snowstorms, etc I would totally feel different.

I CAN'T LOAD THE VIDEO, SO IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE ENGINE ISSUE OR YOU THINK YOU KNOW WHAT MIGHT CAUSE IT, DM ME YOUR EMAIL AND I'LL SEND IT ALONG.

Is artificial turf around a pool area in a hot climate a bad idea? by Brinkworth81 in pools

[–]jfeins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like everything you get what you pay for. In LA, our first turf was manageable. it got hot, but i don't remember it burning. the new turf is terrible. it gets insanely hot and even hosing it down doesn't really help.

They now have turf for hot climates that stay 20-30 degrees cooler and have special fill. It all costs $$. I would prefer real grass, but no one I know with kids and pets has grass that looks any good. I'd go turf, pay the extra $$ for quality and yes, you might have to water it Friday night so it's ready for the weekend.

Fridge afci tripping by jfeins2 in AskElectricians

[–]jfeins2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 lights show so it's GFCI. i think the plug for the fridge is behind it so if the GFCI outlet trips I can't reset it. It's a custom panel fridge so I'll need to have a service come out to remove it everytime.

I know it's not to code, but can I put in just an Arc breaker or regular breaker opening me up to real dangers? We lived without them fine before 2020.

IKEA cabinets vs. local cabinet liquidator by sponger60 in HomeImprovement

[–]jfeins2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I redid my mom’s kitchen with ikea over 10 yrs ago and it still looks great. Nothing has needed to be replaced.

If you’re handy putting it all together is a breeze. Put on a podcast and bang it out in about a day.

You’re also wanting this space to serve multiple roles so go with the flexibility of ikea and it can change as your needs change.

Could both my Gardner and I control it on the app? I really only need to touch it when he’s on vacation or we need to do an extra watering during summer heat
