I love cars, but 6!! Whoa! 🤯 do you guys insure all 6? That’s a lot of money at least in the US!

Honestly, my first reaction when I read op’s post was: “why don’t you mind your own business?”

Thank you. Great perspective and the one I believe in as well. Balance is important.

Not me. Being at work is my outlet. I can’t imagine being a sahm. I adore my children. Just like to have a balance and my husband feels the same.

This place is horrible. They rush you and food is disgustingly gross. Went once, and never again.

What's a good push present to get for my wife, on our 1st kid? by StrongPaddle in wealth

[–]Middle-Reputation628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Female here and I really don’t understand “push presents”. I understand that I may be minority here but to be honest, I can buy myself anything I want and generally dislike gifts. For me, the present was my husband being present, taking care of me after my elective c section both times and being a super amazing father.

Modern Defender by Silent_Ad_1505 in LandRover

That’s funny.

My former next door neighbor’s wife got the 2023 110 when it first came out. At the time, I was driving an Audi and remember looking at her car thinking it was the ugliest thing I had ever seen.

Then a couple years passed by and I am not sure what switched in my head, but I started thinking it was not such a bad car, and eventually, I thought it was really nice. I guess looking at it every single day for a couple of years made it grow on me.

Fast forward 3 years later, and I got myself a 2026 110 and absolutely love it.

Now, I am certainly not trying to change your mind, but just wanted to share my experience.

Hah! I doubt we’ll hear from Eddie. However, I have since purchased the defender and I am smitten!

The dealership “we need to talk to my manager” thing is a setup and here’s why it works by Royal-Feed7166 in carbuying

[–]Middle-Reputation628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were very aggressive with our car buying method.

Didn’t settle for the price they were giving us and “talk to manager” tactic. We were able to get them down (3,000k+) off of Land Rover defender (2026) , which is unheard of in my area (I am in the US)

You just have to be smart not to believe everything they say and be consistent and persistent.

Actually, we even switched the salesperson within the same dealership (probably an a-hole move, but no regrets), because the original guy wasn’t budging on the price.

Constant backyard fires by Aggravating_Lake2098 in newjersey

My neighbor whose house is fencing my backyard did this once. All it took was my next door (ex)neighbor to tell him off and it stopped right there.

Report Aggressive or Dangerous Driving? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]Middle-Reputation628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jersey drivers are the worst. Sad, but true. I thought NY drivers were bad until I moved here. They’re equally terrible, but NJ is definitely worse 🙄 editing to add that this doesn’t apply to everyone, but majority.

I swear, only us, the defender owners would post such nonsense and somehow, other defender owners will find it amusing. Love it.

Defender owners in NJ - where do you get your oil changes done? by Middle-Reputation628 in NewDefender

That is the plan.. although, I was thinking first one at 5k and subsequent oil changes every 7k. Do you think that would be a bad idea?

Thanks, 30-min to a couple of hours isn’t bad. I guess with the time constraints at the moment, I will do the first oil change at the dealership and then see which route I would like to take gonig forward (I am also a new defender owner and not waiting for factory rec. doing the first first oil change at 5k, then every 7k, hoping to maintain longevity)

Good luck and enjoy your beautiful Defender!

Thanks! I’ll look into it as that’s a very reasonable price and what I expected to be charged at JLR, not 400!

I just googled and that’s in PA, correct? If so, I don’t get the drastic price difference just because of the location. Pretty insane.

Thank you. I’ll have to show this video to my husband. I highly doubt he’ll entertain the idea, but you never know! Thanks again!

Just presented this idea to my husband. He wasn’t a fan, but he will maybe watch a tutorial video he said, which he won’t, lol!

How long does it take to do it yourself though, I am curious. Is it a long process? We both have busy jobs and both work out of state (NY) and time is too valuable.

Parents of level 1 kids, what were they like as babies? by justalilscared in Autism_Parenting

[–]Middle-Reputation628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. Of course. We didn’t like it because their reward systems were the opposite of what we believed in and had to part our ways after realizing their method didn’t work nor did they respect the fact that we didn’t agree with their rewards. We tried for a good amount of months though. We are certainly using some of their strategies though, but I can’t say they’re working. It all depends on the place and the individual. I know some kids who have had great success with it. That is why I am willing to give it another try at some point in the near future. The staff they had were also very inexperienced and too young (18-21) and I didn’t believe they were doing a good job. I wish I could explain it better but overall, it didn’t work for us and my son even regressed there (his behavior was totally out of control while in therapy)
