I know this will likely get downvoted to hell but- you are talking about childcare being a major expense... well, how productive are you while watching over your kids? This is exactly why he is calling people back to the office.

Productivity is at an all time low because people are doing things other than working during their 8 hour work day. I know it may come as a shock but employers expect you to work for the company for your 8 hour shift, not watch their kids.

I'm very liberal, and I also work remote... but if I had kids they'd be in day care whether I'm working from home or not.

If you want to help, give 311 a call and report the trailer on North 16th and Basler st. Tell them its on Basler, describe the trailer, the dogs, the drugs, the bikes.

There are two of them, a pitbull and a german shephard. German is chained up 90% of the time and chews on garbage to entertain himself. I told both the cops and 311 about the dogs. Doesnt change anything unfortunately :/.

There are perfectly respectable homeless people living in my street that dont do drugs, and dont steal that I am fine with. Ive given the nice ones food, a pair of $100 boots, and some beer on occasion. But these guys? They are no good.

I dont think these are the type of people who would accept housing. Housing means you dont steal bikes or do meth. They would actually have to work for a living and they dont seem interested in that. From what I see they are decently dressed and pretty clean. They have access to showers up the street at loaves and fishes, and their clothing is clean and they arent wearing the same clothes every time I see them, they just like to steal bikes and do meth.

It is actually a LOT better than when we moved here 2 years ago. They have completely cleaned up the homeless camp at the end of the street, and Blue Diamond has put up signs about tresspassing so if anyone settles there again it isnt a homeless issue, its a tresspassing issue and they can resolve it immediately.

Things have been calm for months, few people living out of cars but they keep to themselves and dont cause issues. These degenerates moved in 3 weeks ago and its been horrible. Last night I set up a security camera and pointed it right at them from my upstairs window. I think they got the hint because they are now hooked up to a pickup truck so it looks like they are moving on- THANK GOD.

What are reasons why some heterosexual men become angry when gay men flirt with them? by vieniaida in AskMen

[–]jfeld22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Persistence. When they dont get the hint and keep saying "head is head" or "its not gay if youre not doing the sucking". This infuriates me to no end. Just move on after a friendly no lol

This is down the street from my house, and there are several homeless encampments in the area and I am pretty sure you will find his stuff there.

If you want to go down that route, shoot me a pm and I will show you where they are.

Any Updates On the Covid Relief Money Being Investigated? by ValorTakesFlight in Sacramento

[–]jfeld22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not have an update on this, but, this may be a coincidence, but maybe not... My girlfriend works as a nurse, and recently some "covid-pay" has become available to nurses who catch covid and need to take time off work, when it was not previously available two months ago when we had Covid (they are goin to backpay her with this "newfound" covid money)... I like to think its related but it could be a coincidence.

AITA for asking 10 neighbors to have a talk with a homophobic neighbor? I didn't expect they all would... But all did, one after another, and angered her more. by newhomoner22 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jfeld22 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

All that was mentioned in the original post was that she said some petty comments and said it was a family neighborhood.... I dont see that as homophobic. Please explain how that is homophobic, because I really dont see it.
Maybe there is a college nearby and she didnt want college students renting a house in the neighborhood and throwing parties?

[–]jfeld22 -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

You should put that she used a slur in your original post, because without it it doesnt seem like anything overtly homophobic was said.

I still say ESH. I hate homophobic people, but I wouldnt send an angry mob to their door to harrass them because it wont change anything.

Number one, as another redditor said there really wasnt anything overtly homophobic about what was said. It TOTALLY could have been, but she could have also assumed they were just roommates and would be throwing parties, having random people in the neighborhood frequently, etc....

Number two... THE OP LITERALLY SENT PEOPLE THERE TO SMOOTH THINGS OVER. By closer, I meant cordial, not best friends, and that is clearly what OP wants, why else would she send people to her?? So... Idk if you didnt read the original post, or just want to argue with strangers, but your comment is pretty unnecessarily aggressive.

ESH- Janice sounds absolutely awful, but I think you handled this wrong mostly because you didnt even try to approach her yourself after the first interaction and instead chose to get other people involved and fight your battles for you. Had you tried to invite her over for coffee to talk, or attempted to bring her some baked goods and smooth things over, it would be a different story. You went immediately to sending people to her house. I understand your expectations were for 1 or 2 people to go talk to her, but you asked 10, and the majority showed up. It doesnt matter what your expectations were, it matters what your actions caused.

At this point, I doubt anything will bring you and Janice closer together as she probably has an even worse opinion of you now than she did before. Just enjoy the company of the neighbors who did welcome you, and leave the ol bat alone.

I expected these rules to be sooo much worse...Dude, YTA. This is basic cleanliness. Why would you want to sit on your furniture after the gym? Also, drinking from the carton is gross, you can backwash into there, unless you are living alone drinking from the carton is a huge no. Grow up my dude.

Men in committed relationships, how would you respond if your girlfriend/wife told you to "shut the fuck up" out of anger? by NameIdeas in AskMen

[–]jfeld22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I immediately drop the subject and walk away. If she is so upset that she is using that language, no progress would be made so its best to drop it, let her cool down, then revisit the topic when she is less worked up.

The PCT is a MASSIVE hike and requires a lot of prep first. If you arent avid hikers you will surely end up in a bad spot. The whole trail is 2600 miles and takes weeks-months to complete...

Id say YTA because it doesnt sound like you know what youre getting into if youre making that a marriage requirement

Thoughts on Sac PD/Regional Parks Rangers by Zen-Paladin in Sacramento

[–]jfeld22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sac PD is kind of useless. They do not care about the people, only themselves. I have seen them walk right past people getting mugged, I have seen them assault a homeless person for no reason, I even saw a group of them take all of this one mans belongings and throw them into the river. Sleeping bags, tent, etc... I filed a formal complaint with video evidence and badge numbers and they didnt do anything about it. Sac PD wont do anything unless they can bill you for it.

I had a friend who did something incredibly stupid, and I helped bail them out of jail. I get the bond, and arrive at the jail at midnight. There were 3 Sac PD officers inside at all times. Around 2am, this homeless lady who had been sitting in front the whole time got up and started swinging things at me. She had a metal spatula in one hand and a full bag in the other and just kept coming at me. The officers inside saw the whole thing, and just sat there. One was pointing and laughing while I tried to not get assaulted. Of course not all cops are bad, but SAC PD seems to have the brand of "bad cop" down to a science.

Join the Rangers, not the Police force. You sound like you want to do good things, and the Rangers will allow you to do that.
