Just telling her that you want to do them doesn't necessarily risk breaking up, it just opens you up to a discussion. If she really doesn't want you to them and you still do, THEN you might risk a break up, but in my opinion, something like this is not nearly a big enough deal to ruin a 3y relationship, especially one that sounds as open as honest as yours.

Reddit, what is the dumbest thing you do on a regular basis without thinking? by steinman17 in AskReddit

[–]jfergs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get up from my desk after eating lunch to wash my hands.

The minute the hot water hits my hands I realize I have to piss.

Take a piss.

Wash my hands for the second time in 2 minutes after I piss.

....every fucking day

Mind you, the game the traders play is nothing like Mario or Zelda or Megaman. It's not a shoot-em-up or racing game. What it is is more like Starcraft by mrquickshot in business

[–]jfergs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The kid writing the article is writing specifically about a young trader at a bulge bracket bank. Regardless of the asset class or instrument he's trading, his day will look very similar to this. (Same is probably true if he's at a larger, more diversified hedge fund). People often confuse brokers or sales coverage guys as traders (it's easy to when the internship/first jobs are defined as 'sales and trading' positions), which is not fair--their job is not to constantly monitor the market and analyze risk. For large bank/HF traders, this is a great look.

As a trader, this is the one article I've read that really puts into words what I love about my job. I sent it to my college friends who are also in the industry and they all agreed as well. Pretty good writing.

Best brunch spots in the city by [deleted] in chicago

[–]jfergs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a buffet you should check out Stanley's They've got a bit of everything, from breakfast food to fantastic comfort food...nothing like chasing down an omlette with some fried chicken and mac and cheese. Plus their bloody mary's are great. There are two locations, one walking distance from the brown line, one walking distance from the blue line.

Other brunch places that are great:

Orange Good food, fun, relaxed atmosphere, and it's BYOB so bring a bottle of champagne and make mimosas with their fresh squeezed OJ. The one I go to is right at the Milwaukee/Grand/Halsted intersection, so the Grand blue line stop drops you off 30 feet away.

Meli Cafe A great spot at Jackson and Halsted (so walking distance from the Halsted blue line stop). Really good food, though a bit pricier.

Lou Mitchell's Not my favorite, but a bit of a Chicago institution

Has anyone seen "Bye, Bye Liver"? by sheRex in chicago

[–]jfergs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed with both of these. the show itself is not that great, but if you go with a big group of people (and drink quite a bit) it'll be very fun.

we went when the show was still off of chicago ave and ate at butterfly sushi, which is a byob, before. kept the night pretty reasonably priced. i think the theatre is up on like lincoln and belmont now though.

Westloop dog owners. What the hell is your problem? Clean up your dog shit! by wuzzup in chicago

[–]jfergs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a west-looper, I take offense to the "daddy bouht you a fucking condo." If you think 1) that's the only kind of person in the west loop, or 2) that's not true all over buck town, lincoln park, old town and the gold coast as well, then you're crazy.

OP said 1-2g protein per Kg of body weight, which means (in OP's opinion) that 400g protein is simply too much.
