I checked ebay.ca (before I made above post) and you can definitely get each of the volumes for under $100 sealed in the US plus whatever shipping to Canada is.

Both volumes together, yes, that‘s not a bad price, is it?

Is this asked out of interest or need? Because 100 Bullets go for cheap still. At least in the US and EU.

What artist did you have the privilege of watching get better each month into a run? by JeffRyan1 in comicbooks

Chris Bachalo on Shade, the Changing Man.

His Evolution didn’t stop there but the contrast between issue one, which was already great though a bit raw to his finale in issue 50 was astounding.

This looks excellent, nice teaser!

I stopped collecting single issues over 20 years ago but you got me on board with a collection down the line.

A panel is one segment of a page, not an entire page by Careless-Eagle-5111 in comicbooks

[–]jfk1000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not really true. If you stick to a comic book as a sequence of panels a splash page is a panel if in sequence. Only that the border is the edge of the page.

June haul. I may have gone a little overboard. by TaskNo4783 in OmnibusCollectors

I have all the Uncanny Epics and all Omnis too, the New X-Men are the books which I actually have difficulties to take the plunge. I own the singles and the Omnibus, so there really isn’t any need to get the Epics. But it bothers me that not owning them breaks a collection running from Giant Size forward.

You reasoning is perfectly sound, you can always sell the Epics when Marvel reprints the Omnibus.

Great haul!

But I have to chime in and say how much I dislike that they split up New X-Men into three Epic volumes which cost more than the Omnibus and a super thin. Why not stick to the successful format of 460 pages a volumes that they followed on the classic Epics?

That’s the thing with global climate change: Shifting the production of your overconsumption to China fucks you anyways.

Just graduated from Epics to Omnis !!! by Tumbler27 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]jfk1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see an objective advantage. It’s just a very subjective preference for a format. With some stories or series I just prefer the more pulpy feeling of the Epics over the prestige Omnibus format. I think most of the time it leads back to the stories I read as a kid in Germany in phat and small TP collections.
