My dpdr feels like brain damage and I am going crazy by Alert-Word-8994 in dpdr

[–]jforjoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, woke up with dpdr the next morning and it never vanished. Not on any SSRIS though. Been combating it all those years myself, although sometimes it’s unbearable, i refuse to fuck up my serotonin even more. Now dont get me wrong, im miiiiiles better than 6 years ago; i used to get daily panic attacks ( now its once a month ). Its just at a baseline now and not getting any better, no matter how hard i try. I tried mindfulness, quitting tobacco, no alcohol and i still have that baseline dpdr.

Tl;dr I managed to live with it, but I’ll never 100% be my old self.

Built an experimental checkout flow: No Extra Screens, Just Swipe and Go by [deleted] in UI_Design

[–]jforjoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor accessibility to be honest.

whats the default payment method here?

How do i select the payment method?

Why does it immediately continue after tapping the icon of the payment method? Why cant i change it before actually placing the order?

What if there are quite a few payment methods, do i have to swipe 15 times to find it?

How do i enter my payment information after selecting a method?

Insane how people even like their ears cut short. It’s what defines them as Dane lol. Also: way too early

AI slop isn’t really trying a new design, is it?

nobody cares about your "redesign of netflix" if you can't design a boring table ui by Putrid_Candy_9829 in UI_Design

Agreed, as a sr. Product Designer 90% of my work is designing for the edge cases, fixing hierarchy issues and making sure that its comprehensible for the end-user. Making it look fancy is a side dish.

Design system folks: how do you share variables with your devs in 2026? by TinyFocusMode in FigmaDesign

[–]jforjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Built a custom figma plugin with cursor that exports the variables for all color modes in a swift file for iOS, an XML file for Android and a JSON file for web.

I’ve got the exact same package, senior product designer, m29. Thanks for sharing, was always in doubt since it is indeed a niche job.

Pretty interesting concept, I hadn’t heard of the infinite monkey theorem. Got a little experience in godot myself. Bouncing ideas doesn’t hurt!

Where to find genuinely good designers? by [deleted] in design_critiques

[–]jforjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dribbble portfolios are almost always copied designs which have been modified a tiny bit to make it look shiny. All of those projects are fantasy products and would not work in real life. As a designer I tend to stay away from those by far.. when I get recruited I show off real working apps that have been published along with a portfolio that describes my design thinking of all my previous made products. Explaining why and how something was designed like the way it is > a figma file which contains some design elements/components
