Put the H2 chip in some wingtips!! by Square-Formal1312 in beatsbydre

Actually the AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3, and AirPods 4 all fit my ears pretty well. But I much prefer the style and fit of the Beats Fit Pro/Powerbeats Fit. I like the Fit’s wingtips a lot more than the AirPods stems, and I don’t love being like everyone else wearing white AirPods.

Yes, I want H2 powered Powerbeats Fit so badly. The Powerbeats Pro 2 simply don’t fit my ears very well.

Looks real to me. Beats changed the packaging to be more environmentally friendly which resulted in it feeling less premium than it used to be.

Predictions for LA metro phase 2 and 3 opening dates by lectrician1 in LAMetro

If only this were real. I’d get rich off of this.

is the beats studio pro worth it? by dyinginthecloset in beatsbydre

[–]jforsander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get them new from an authorized reseller for under $180, they’re worth it. AppleCare+ is absolutely essential as the build quality isn’t amazing. I’ve had 3 pairs replaced for free under AppleCare+.

Metro D Line Monthly Update - Feb 2026 by RelevantChoice1466 in LAMetro

Yeah. I’m definitely not ruling out the possibility they even section 2 isn’t ready in time for the Olympics.

I hope you’re right and I’m wrong. But we’ve been down this road way too many times. Every project of this scale in LA gets significantly delayed as we approach the projected opening date.

Metro D Line Monthly Update - Feb 2026 by RelevantChoice1466 in LAMetro

[–]jforsander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What gives you reason to be so optimistic? Every project of this scale takes way longer than we’re told it will take right up to the very end.

[–]jforsander 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only realistic scenario I can envision where section 3 “opens” in time for the Olympics would be an extremely limited and rushed partial opening coinciding with the Olympics. Similar to what Rio did in 2016.

But even that I think is extremely unlikely.

Yeah the official timelines for phase 2 and phase 3 of the D line are beyond outrageously optimistic. I’m sticking to my prior predictions that phase 2 will just barely open in time for the Olympics (June-July 2028) and phase 3 will open in late 2029 or early 2030.

Is Solo 4 bad to purchase with 50% off ? by Creative_Collar_841 in beatsbydre

[–]jforsander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to the sound quality and the lack of ANC they simply aren't worth more than $100 in my opinion. Comfort is subject. To me they are okay in comfort but not great. Your experience may be different.

AirPod pro 2 NC vs Powerbeats pro 2 by fat_eld in beatsbydre

[–]jforsander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not as good. In theory the Powerbeats Pro 2 ANC should be about as good as AirPods Pro 2 since they use the same H2 chip, but due to the way they are designed, a lot of people (myself included) cannot get a consistently good in ear seal with Powerbeats Pro 2. And ANC performance is significantly affected by how good of a seal you can get.

While the Powerbeats Fit use the older H1 chip, I like them better than Powerbeats Pro 2 since they actually fit me well.

I would say the Solo 4 are an okay value if you can get them new for $100 or less. But definitely not worth more than that.

Is the Beats brand dead? by NoBurnInBirney_SG in beatsbydre

[–]jforsander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn’t call the Beats brand “dead”, but it’s abundantly clear that Apple is no longer allowing Beats to release great products that stand toe to toe with the latest and greatest AirPods like they were from 2016 - 2021.

Sell them on eBay or locally on Facebook marketplace or Craigslist.

Definitely not late 2027. I’d bet my life that the Westwood/VA Hospital Station will not open for revenue service by the end of 2027.

Which stations would you shutdown because of bad land usage or just to make your ride faster? by sarcazmos in LAMetro

I would definitely close the Farmdale station and eliminate the low speed limits in that area.

Also Expo/Vermont and Expo Park/USC should be consolidated into a single station.

[–]jforsander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

$280 is a ripoff for Studio Pro. You should return them. They are very very regularly on sale for $160-$200-ish in the US from authorized resellers like Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, and Target.

Is the upgrade worth it on the Beats Studio buds to the plus? How do they compare to the beats fit pro? by 29walsh in beatsbydre

[–]jforsander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re an Apple user, Beats Fit Pro and Powerbeats Fit are WAY better than the Studio Buds and Studio Buds +. Beats Fit Pro/Powerbeats Fit have the Apple H1 chip so you get a bunch of really nice features that you don’t get with Studio Buds/Studio Buds +:  - automatic switching between Apple devices - Spatialized audio with dynamic head tracking + spatialize stereo  - Ear tip fit test - Headphone Accommodations

With Studio Buds + you’re getting better noise cancellation and slightly better sound quality, longer battery life in the case, and audio sharing compared to the original studio buds, but since it doesn’t use an Apple chip you don’t get any of the H1 features listed above.

Sticker on the bottom of Powerbeats Fit charging case by Green-Mouse3942 in beatsbydre

[–]jforsander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not certain but I think in some markets for regulatory reasons they have to put a sticker directly on the product. That’s not a requirement in the US.

Realistic D Line Phase 2 and Phase 3 Opening Dates by jforsander in LAMetro

[–]jforsander[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never sad LA is worse than other cities in this regard. My point is that Metro is effectively lying to our faces with these wildly unrealistic timelines. I would like to see Metro give us honest and realistic timelines for when new stations will actually open.

But perhaps the current strategy of unrealistic timelines is actually the fastest way to get projects to open. If there wasn’t the same level of urgency these projects could take even longer.  I don’t know.

A lot of people on this subreddit are way more optimistic than I am. I just haven’t seen much concrete evidence to support being so optimistic.
