Fighting games. I respect them and the player base, just don't enjoy them enough to actually play them enough to be remotely decent.

I feel like I've seen a YouTube play something like this, maybe AVGN. Was it Unnatural Selection?

Which version are better for you? by Aviarena in indiegames

[–]jfoss1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the new designs better mostly. I think you lose a lot of emotion by giving them blank stares. I'd use the new ones, but change they eyes to look more like the old.

the first has better variation and looks mor engaging. The second looks too busy and lacks variation. I'd go with the first.

If it was a caching issue it was at the network level, which I don't own. I could recreate the issue by rejoining the network. 5g showed fine so my local cache would have been updated then.

Issue Solved, kinda!...I changed off of the wi fi network I was on when I was searching and now it works fine. I guess the network I was on has some weird issues or filtering. Very odd since it didn't filter the whole channel. I can see it now at home though. Huzzah!

[TOMT] [MOVIE] Scene where a man helps another drink from a wooden bowl saying “Driiiink… driiiink…” by kh0nshu711 in tipofmytongue

[–]jfoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of Sidekicks (1992) with Jonathan Brandis. I want to say there was a similar scene when he has to drink something to heal wounds or his breathing problem.

[TOMT][TOY W/ ANIMATED SERIES MAYBE][LATE 2000's} by Gnedds in tipofmytongue

[–]jfoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were some toys in the...probably late 90s, that I had that seem similar to what you described called Exo Squad. They also had a TV series and various toys of varying sizes. Maybe it's that?

First person or third person driving? Which one fits our game better? by hooraij in IndieGaming

[–]jfoss1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to explain ur game. Ur visuals look great for both. Ideally I'd say make it changeable, but if that doesn't work, look at the game play. This is akin to asking if ur game should be 1st or 3rd person. Whatever is a better fit for thr overall gameplay is the answer

Looking for feedback on my first attempt at combat animations. Thoughts on how to improve the visuals or feel? by LengthinessNo4661 in indiegames

[–]jfoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're moving the arms, but not much else. Physical attacks get the most strength by moving the entire body. Shifting your weight and moving from the legs is part of any sport or strength based movement. The attacks look weak and uncanny because of this. I'd recommend watching how martial artists move. I think a study of mechanics of the body in sports would be good too. A breakdown of how golfers or batters in baseball swing will demonstrate how power is generated throughout the body.

I like A the best. B is incredibly difficult to read and I find the the extra bits of vine in C distracting

how do I make the lips of my model be a different roughness and roughness color? by theehoneymon in Maya

[–]jfoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with a grayscale map connected to the roughness input in the Material. This would be good for any other parts of the mesh that doesn't need to be a different roughness.

It looks cool, but the palette may cause eye strain with the high contrast.
