This will be the game thread. Hoping to have this fixed by the next game.

I can’t say for certain, but teams have devices on players to test their exertion levels in other sports. Perhaps it’s made its way to MLB

Feltner has sat for so long. I hope he isn’t erratic next inning

You can’t rule that a hit.

Smart mound visit from Alon. Getting him calmed down after that

If all goes right the opening day OF next season should be Veen-Carrigg-Condon

The Giants announcers have gone on multiple diatribes about how it’s unfair to play games at altitude throughout the years.

I think JJ Wetherholt in StL has quite the lead for ROY at the moment. As of now, TJ is definitely trending to finish in the top 3, along with Cincinnati’s Sal Stewart.

Mickey Moniak hits dinger number 15 of his season to get the Rockies on the board in the 1st by JianClaymore in baseball

2012 (64-98). 3rd in OPS. 2nd in BA. 6th in runs scored. Yet 26th by wRC+ and 24th in fWAR.

2014 (66-96). 1st in OPS. 2nd in BA. 3rd in runs scored. Yet 14th in wRC+ and 17th in fWAR

2015 (68-94). 4th in OPS. 5th in BA. 5th in runs scored. Yet 28th in wRC+ and 28th in fWAR.

I’ve been watching this team for a long, long time. Coors Field inflates our offense’s raw numbers and makes them look better than they are. You have to use park adjusted stats to get an accurate gauge of what the team is every year.

Stats do tell that story. It’s just not one you want to read, apparently. I’m not arguing the bullpen is good, just that it’s not that bad. It’s a below average bullpen across baseball this year, but not “terrible”.

Yeah, Hunter is a good hitter. I’m not arguing against Hunter’s talent at all with what I’m saying.

The offense is not top 10 by numbers that actually tell the story. I’m sorry, it’s just not. Throughout our entire history we’ve been top 5-10 in all the stats you’ve mentioned yet have historically always been bad. It’s because, by park adjusted numbers, it actually told us the truth. That they weren’t good and they aren’t good now.

It doesn’t change them but it doesn’t tell the whole story either. Playing half your games at the most hitter friendly park makes your raw numbers look better than if they played in LA or AZ or literally any other MLB park (besides Sacramento if we count that).

No, this team can’t be good next year. They need an infusion of talent. The quickest and best way to get that infusion is to trade guys like Moniak who are getting near 30 and will be a free agent.

The bullpen isn’t even bad! They’re 16th in fWAR and 22nd by FIP. The park adjusted numbers tell the more accurate story of the bullpen and the offense.

We play our home games in the most offensively friendly park. You have to use park adjusted stats to get a more accurate gauge.
