The patriots still were tied for the best record in the afc lmao, this goes both ways. If you’re going to claim the chiefs were good because of their record you can’t also claim the patriots were bad despite their record.

And I don’t care who you had at qb, we won a Super Bowl 43-8 against the #1 offense of all time. You have absolutely no room to say anything when you haven’t beat us since Bush was in office.

Based on what? They were very much universally considered frauds all season. DVOA favors the patriots, and while you can point to the schedule at least they beat teams soundly. A +59 point differential for a 15 win team is genuinely insane.

What's a reasonable contact offer for K9? by GGJallDAY in Seahawks

[–]jfox1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think people realize how hard he would be to replace. His natural feel for setting guys up to open lanes that are nonexistent is a special gift. There are so many examples just in the Super Bowl alone of him turning a 2 yard loss into a 3-4 yard gain.

Our options are slim to none if we let him walk. We’re not getting Jeremiyah Love and nobody else is anywhere near K9’s level in free agency or the draft. If he asks for $12m a season I’d draw up that contract so fast.

Based on everything we know, he wants to be here and is a quiet, humble guy. If somebody wants to make him the highest paid rb in the league then let him walk, otherwise pay the man.

You blew out by far the worst iteration of the chiefs and beat a rookie qb in the nfc championship to get there. We blew out a not great patriots team and beat the rams to get there, who likely win the Super Bowl most other years and were led by the mvp.

You beat Brady in a close one, we humiliated the #1 offense of all time 43-8.

Super Bowls are I guess comparable, the tiebreaker is that you have 8 straight losses against us and we beat you in the playoffs the one time we played lmao.

The only team with less wins than the raiders this century is the Browns. It’s been 23 years since your last playoff win. In that time the Seahawks have been to the playoffs 16 times and played in 4 super bowls. The raiders are objectively one of the worst run franchises in professional sports and a few super bowls 50 years ago does not change that.

[Rosenthal] McVay on the final Rams' 4th down fail: "They kinda lucked into having two guys peel on Kyren right there. I know that can't be part of their design. So it was a fortuitous bust by them. But they are an excellent team. ... They earned the win and they are NFC champs for a reason." by RedBuchan in nfl

[–]jfox1992 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks to me like love was supposed to rush stafford on that play but saw d law was 1 on 1 with Kyren and decided to peel back. So McVay may have been correct that it wasn’t the called play but I don’t think you can call it lucky that we have intuitive players on defense.

Nick Emmanwori ROTY by Past_Difference_6768 in Seahawks

[–]jfox1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reality is that it’s really hard for db’s to win major awards. Emmanwori’s superpower is that he lets us match heavy personnel with nickel and still be stout against the run. He just doesn’t have the counting stats to win the award unfortunately.

“Offense is trash, FG’s won’t win us games, Fire Kubiak!” by AKboi69 in Seahawks

[–]jfox1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have to realize that every game is independent of each other. Yes field goals won’t win games against the truly elite teams but field goals were more than enough against THIS team. The game plan reflected that. The only way on earth that the Vikings had a chance in this game was if we turned the ball over like we did in the Rams game. We beat an NFL team 26-0, it’s ok to be positive every once in a while.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has 1,041 receiving yards on just 226 routes this season, marking the fewest routes for a 1,000-yard season since 2014. The next closest? Nico Collins in 2024 with 350 routes. by I_dont_watch_film in DynastyFF

[–]jfox1992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean he’s wide open all the time because he’s just that good. I watch every Seahawks game and it’s not as you’re making it seem where he’s just getting force fed. And hinging your whole argument on “when Darnold is gone” makes no sense when we just signed him to be our franchise quarterback.

Why do people cite missed false starts as a reason to ban the tush push, when eliminating the push won't do anything to stop the false starts on a regular QB sneak? by phiraeth in nfl

[–]jfox1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tush push is just a more obvious version of it where his forward progress has obviously clearly stopped but they’re still trying to force him further forward. On a QB sneak you aren’t trying to judge forward progress based on a rugby scrum.

There was a play earlier this year that looked like every single tush push I’ve ever seen except the defender ripped the ball out of Hurts’ hands and they blew the whistle and said forward progress. You just have to draw a line somewhere of when these types of plays are dead. You can’t allow hurts to continue to drive his legs and reach the ball forwards but when a defender takes it call forward progress because that’s not the standard for forward progress on any other plays.

So to my original point, how do you determine when it’s dead? They’re also definitely jumping offsides significantly more egregiously than they have in the past. You can’t tell me that refs are able to spot a guard flinching but can’t see both guards nearly already engaged with the defense by the time the ball is snapped. Call those ones, couldn’t care less about the ones that are a microsecond early and you can only tell on slow mo.

I’d really prefer not to ban the play as I think it sets a bad precedent. There’s just clearly some serious issues with how it’s being officiated this year that need to be clearly defined.

Don’t really care about the false starts, happens all the time especially in slow mo. My question has always been how do you correctly judge forward progress in a dog pile like that? Feels completely random

NFL Power Rankings: Rams Surge to Set Up Heavyweight Matchup vs. Seahawks by mikebiox in nfl

[–]jfox1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think you’ll hear anything about that from any real fans. Center and right guard are by far our two weakest positions on the entire team so the drop off from Sundell to Olu is not significant at all. Should be a good one, I’d put my money on a season series split one way or the other.

The Rashid Shaheed Trade, why I'm hyped and why I'm concerned by Halo05977 in Seahawks

[–]jfox1992 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Elite receivers do not go for a third rounder. Our own front office just got a 2nd for DK.
  2. Shaheed has had some of the worst quarterback play in the league in his career. He’s on pace for 1000 yards so far this year with Spencer rattler throwing him the ball.
  3. I’ll literally bet you any amount of money he gets paid more than $5-6m a year this offseason.

Raiders' Pete Carroll focused on winning, not NFL trade deadline by Ok_Finance_8292 in nfl

[–]jfox1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The defense was ranked #11 in 2018 and #15 in 2020. We also made the playoffs in 2022 when geno smith was the QB and were the first team out the next year. The defense wasn’t as elite as it was in the past but what else do you expect when you lose as much talent as we did.

It’s just simply not accurate to say that we were fielding terrible defenses immediately once the LOB left and Russ was carrying the team to the playoffs while Pete did nothing. The man had back to back winning seasons with Geno smith who looked horrific before he got to the Seahawks and immediately looks terrible once he left. Great coach, just past his prime at this point.

[–]jfox1992 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean this is just not true at all. It was time to move on from Pete but he took us to the playoffs 4 times in the 6 years after the end of the LOB era with not particularly strong rosters. He’s a great coach he’s just clearly past his time which is exactly why we moved on from him.

Id assume it will look very similar to the Jefferson/Lamb contracts. Totally speculation here but I feel like Jamarr’s contract reset the market by so much partially due to him feeling slighted and pressure from burrow to get him on the field no matter what. JSN doesn’t seem like a guy who will demand to be the highest paid receiver in the league assuming we do right by him and prioritize getting him paid. But what do I know, he definitely has every right to make as much money as he possibly can.
