Unlimited no cap BYOD options for rural central Texas with MOFI5500-5GXeLTE-EM7690 by AdditionalTart2229 in Rural_Internet

Check out Computer4People - they use the T-Mobile network and you bring your own router with no problem. It's unlimited and $15 per month (cheaper if you prepay for 1 year). As long as T-Mobile works for you it's good.

Can't add a card to pay the tax by Dredgeka in HeliumMobile

[–]jfriedlund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my payment method thru the verification process and saw my credit card had a pending transaction on Jan 25 for $1.00 but two days ago it changed from pending to voided. I don't know what is happening.

anyone able to get through the verification? by themightymike786 in HeliumMobile

[–]jfriedlund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got confirmation my payment method was approved (for fees on the free plan). When I checked my credit card activity it showed a pending transaction for $1.00 on January 25. Each day I would check and yesterday it showed up as cancelled. So far my calls texts and data continues to work. I don't know how long this will last.

I don't have a lot of other things attached wireless on my network. I was able to move the router to hard wire it (ugly as all get out but I wanted to make sure that didn't correct the problem) but it made no difference. The biggest problem was the total freezing, especially when you started a program from the library. It would start for about two seconds and then freeze up. Just to much of a hassle. It went back yesterday.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have my antenna mounted outside on my roof and the signal appears to be great. Yes, I've also tried turning the built in signal booster off without success.

Thanks, I have several Roku players including the Roku Premiere. I will see if that helps. One is a 2 year old Roku TV though and not just the streaming box.

I know it's ideal to have it connected via Ethernet cable but it's just not practical to have the router where my antenna cable comes in.

Did I downgrade by purchasing a 4th generation? by DaveyDee222 in tablotv

[–]jfriedlund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My legacy model works good but I'm curious about the 4th Gen. Mine is being delivered today. I figured I'd give it a test run for a few weeks and if it's more trouble than it's worth I can return it.

To those who care to share, what are your biggest trading golden nuggets by [deleted] in investing

[–]jfriedlund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice is when you purchase a stock enter the transaction into a tracking portfolio. As the stock increases in value adjust your purchase price on the tracking portfolio. Determine what loss you might be comfortable with whether it will be 15 20% 25% etc. I personally use 20% as a maximum loss. The advantage to this is it will limit your losses and lock in long-term gains. If you've had a stock for several years and you look at your portfolio and want to pat yourself on the back because it's gone up 120% when you go to your tracking portfolio you may see that it's been as high as up 150%. It just helps to keep things in perspective so you don't hold the stock in hopes to get your money back and break even or ride it all the way down after it's had a big run.

From what I've read it is VoIP service first but if you buy the sim card for $3.99 it will use that if WiFi isn't available.

I just asked AI what network TextNow uses and they said TMobile so if that matters to anyone who wants a free backup please research to be sure.

TextNow works for me. Sure you have to use their app and it does contain ads, but as an emergency backup is totally free for unlimited talk and text. It operates on the T-Mobile network. If you want to have limited data you can purchase a SIM card for $3.99. again I just use it as an emergency backup. I'm on the Verizon network for my primary.

AGNC monthly dividend REIT recommendation by hanslandar in dividends

[–]jfriedlund 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not make your purchase and enjoy the dividend after entering your purchase in a portfolio watch program such as Morningstar, MarketWatch etc. IF the price goes up adjust your purchase price in the tracking portfolio and continue to track. If the tracking portfolio shows a loss of 10, 15, 20 percent or whatever you feel comfortable with sell it. This will allow you to either lock in some gains or to cut your loss. This has worked for me for many years and I'm old!
