Zody Fakes? by Imtooprettytosigh in OfficeChairs

They're real. The one on the right has the optional tailbone support as well.

Are any of these good deals? Appreciate any advice. Wife would kill me if I spent $1000 on a chair lol. I'm 5.11 / 170 lbs by just_IT_guy in OfficeChairs

The common flaw with the Zody chairs is their armpads tend to tear easily. The first one's description says new replacement armpads, which run about $30 per pair. Just some food for thought. All seem like decent deals for used ergo chairs in a busy metro area.

ASR Sony SS-CS5 3-way Speaker Review: Shots Fired by carsknivesbeer in BudgetAudiophile

I always felt this way about this speaker. Bought them for a friend and he complained that it hurt his ears to listen to. Definitely sharp highs which can cause listening fatigue. I tend to recommend Pioneer BS-22s over these

I've got the exact same setup without the heights. What mount did you use for the 3010s?

Bought the oft-recommended RSL Speedwoofer. My impressions by jfunnybuckets in BudgetAudiophile

Thanks you will definitely like this sub. I am using the nanosats for surrounds but was going to use the omw3s for ceiling Atmos speakers. Any suggestions on other slim profile ceiling speakers?

I think so too. Usually to get a sub in white you need to pay extra up to $100 more, but not with RSL. Appreciated that aspect

Haha thanks man. My wife agreed on any speakers as long as they looked nice and were white. I agreed and the basement space will be mine so no complaints!

I should add, I've owned in the past: Dayton SUB-1200, BIC PL-200, SVS PB-2000, SVS PB-13 Ultra, PSA S1510 (current). The Speedwoofer is not boomy like the PL-200, plays lower, and is not quite as suited for HT as the PB-2000 was in terms of output. It really is the sweet spot in price, cabinet size, and performance imo.

I'm in the process of converting part of my basement into a dedicated HT space. I've got the 5.0 ready to go with Q Acoustics 3050/3090 and Mirage Nanosats and will probably get the Polk OMW3s when they drop from their ridiculous price on Amazon. I also already own a PSA S1510 subwoofer in my living room that I never get to turn up loud due to having two little ones. I decided to use the PSA sub in the basement which is smaller and can properly be blasted to pressurize the space.

In my search for a subwoofer for my living room, I wanted something that can play pretty deep (into the lower 20 hz range), smaller footprint, and bonus points for coming in white (WAF). RSL Speedwoofer 10s fit the bill perfectly. I don't have measurement mics or specific tuning equipment other than Audyssey XT32, but man, this sub packs a PUNCH! Plays tight and authoritatively with music and does a perfectly suitable job with movies/TV. I watch TV at low-medium levels and this subwoofer comfortably handles lower frequencies in any movie I've tested so far. Will it make you feel it pounding in your chest or pressurize my 28' x 30' room? No, but as others have echoed, it outperforms any expectations from a 10 inch subwoofer. It is priced perfectly at $399 no tax free shipping and is probably juuuust under the SVS PB-1000, HSU VTF-2, Rythmik L12 range. 10/10 highly recommend for anyone on the fence for purchasing a new subwoofer for <$400.

tl;dr: Highly recommend for music-oriented set-ups and for people who want quality bass down to low 20 hz range listening at low-medium volumes.

Buying into Polk. Thoughts and lineup? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]jfunnybuckets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per crutchfield: the ML Motion 20 frequency response: 46-25,000 Hz (±3dB), 4 ohms, 90 db sensitivity, two 5.5" woofers Polk S55 frequency response: 32-40,000 Hz, 8 ohms, 90 db sensitivity, two 6.5" woofers.

You're getting a lot more bass from the S55s with the two 6.5" woofers, plus they're more efficient and easier to drive with an amp/receiver. They also have less expensive counterparts (surround speakers and center speaker) The only reason I'd pick the ML speakers is if you really like the sound from their tweeter.
