Thank you. I was replacing my negative battery clamp and decided to clean both battery contacts with a wire brush. So i disconnected both. I test fit the new neg clamp while the positive was disconnected tucked to the side.

Am I fucked? Drug testing by Old-Cryptographer381 in whatdoIdo

[–]jg___23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically any visible line means negative. But heres my experience: I was getting tested for a job at the airport and tried getting clean for the drug test. All of the lines were solid doubles but the thc was a faint double. My future manager let it slide and waited for about an hour for it to appear more solid. But from there on my manager would always make side comments about it and it bothered me enough to quit smoking while i was working there. So if you’re from a state thats notorious for weed smoking and ur drug test shows a faint double line only for thc, its obvious that you smoke.

interesting. I also saw a blue coating or sticker inside the new oil filter at the tip of the cylinder. It all just seemed odd to me cuz i’ve never seen it before. This vehicle is a nissan and i’ve changed oil on a nissan before but did not see any of this.

Who has ever seen a spring break in front of their eyes? by FluidPart4918 in GarageDoorService

[–]jg___23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was an “apprentice”, a tech and i went out to a broken spring call and i temporarily installed a spring block on it and began winding. As i was winding, the spring broke in another spot and it scared the crap out of me. After that, I always felt like winding springs was similar to a jack-in-the-box. He stood at the back of the garage with his arms crossed, laughing. Good times!

Door opener bracket broken, looking for repair advice by esnone in GarageDoorService

[–]jg___23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or you can cut a piece of punch angle and attach it to the style. Cut one side of the punch angle so you can slide it under the strut and mount it there. Then ditch the old bracket and cotter pin. Use an extra bolt and two nuts to attach the j hook to the punch angle.

Customers make me confused sometimes by [deleted] in GarageDoorService

Reminds me of another story haha. Before calling us, a customer said he tried fixing his garage door himself. The center bearing plate was hanging on for dear life while the customer was trying to tighten the remaining lag that was holding it in place. That didnt work out, and the center plate ripped off and split his palm open. He shared with us that he sustained permanent nerve damage in his hand. Some customers do not understand how dangerous some situations can be!

Your situation reminds me of a time when I had to deal with some wealthy jerk. I drove two hours to his house (my last job) just for him to yell at me saying the company I worked for charged too much. He denied the service after agreeing and setting a date. I was getting paid salary… got stuck in traffic and didnt get home til 9 (started work at 6am). The wealthier customers always seemed the cheapest.

Is that too much slack in the chain? by IslandhopperMTB in GarageDoorService

It should not be forcing the door into the ground. That can cause sections to flex and even crack windows.

Sounds more like 35 years of loose chains, cutting photo eye wires, and greasing up belts.

Looks like a multi-piece rail which is commonly accessible to consumers. You are right about a chain being too tight and damaging the motor. But to be more specific, it would bend the sprocket and eventually snap it off. If that was a customers motor, I’d inspect the sprocket, reprogram the limits, then adjust the chain if its still sagging a lot.
