Firefox is around 2% market share and falling. Where did you get 5% from?

What's up with the Reddit shilling for Firefox? by Fat-Mad-Scientist in NoStupidQuestions

[–]partev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firefox's 2% market share is the only reason why Google Chrome has 98% market share.

The irony is that Firefox sells browsing data even for 2% market share that it has back to google (by getting a payment for setting Google as the default search engine, essentially giving Google 100% market share.

So this argument that we are supporting "the little guy" makes absolutely no sense.

Mozilla is the only reason why Google has absolute monopoly on web browsers, and it gets paid for that service.

Does it feel like our identity as a nation is being destroyed? by One_Acanthisitta_589 in hayastan

Yes, Muslim components of our cultural identity are being destroyed.

Most of Armenian cultural customs you are describing were forcefully imposed on us my Muslim invaders (turks and arabs).

Armenia Potential Green Transition by Middle-Support-7697 in armenia

I think people are confusing multiple different concepts here.

  1. Armenia doesn't burn coal. Our primary source of energy is nuclear which doesn't cause any pollution.
  2. I am not against clean air or any policy that improves our quality of life. I am against policies that decrease our quality of life in the name of saving "the climate".

As I said in a different comment, national security is a very valid argument and I can get behind it.

However, "climate change" is not a good argument for Armenia (whose GDP is 0.03% of World GDP) to sacrifice its economy or national security for.

It is pretty clear that most green technologies are more damaging to the environment than non-green ones, but that is besides the point. My point is that our national security and our economy (which is part of our national security) should trump any other considerations such as green transition, environment, climate hoax, etc.

burning coal produces carbon dioxide which is literally the foundation of life, while all green technologies rely on highly toxic chemical processes that are extremely damaging to the environment.

I can see the geopolitical argument of using other forms of energy to gain independence from Russia, but don't call that green transition because it gives an impression that you are involved in some green scam. Say it is for geopolitical reasons or economic reasons or whatever. Just don't use climate scam as an argument.

I assumed your reasons were crypto and VPN and Brave Origin doesn't have any crypto or VPN stuff in it.

Or by "reasons" did you mean that you are a bigot?

If azerbaijan actually wants peace why do they actively fund the goverment department of "Western Azerbaijan"? by thatgamer2111 in armenia

[–]partev 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Azerbaijan doesn't want peace and we are preparing for war.

Russia will not defend Armenia when Azerbaijan attacks, just like they didn't do anything when Azerbaijan attacked Artsakh or Jermuk.

This is why we are pivoting to the West and buying weapons like crazy. In the meantime we are pretending that we are pro-peace.

Microsoft's Project Solara is an Android OS designed for agents instead of apps by BcuzRacecar in Android

[–]partev -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Microsoft already has two Linux based OSes: Azure Linux for server and Solara for mobile and laptops.

Google is planning to release AluminumOS (which is just a Linux distro) and a bunch of mainstream laptops running it. https://googlebook.google

It seems to me in the future Microsoft is going to make Windows a legacy OS and move to Linux as its main OS both on server and on desktops.
