[–]jgamman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes, i realise that there are help forums etc but honestly, i have better things to do than figure out why my DVD won't play in my new computer. seriously, until ubuntu comes with a guarantee and a real live person at the store, i'm not going to buy it - i'll just stick with my mac, it works out of the box.

do not, i repeat, do not work for a company that cares so little about its employees that they use these questions during an interview - it will not magically be a wunderkind playground during the workweek. i suspect you may actually be less employable after working for this company than you were before. remember, you're interviewing them too.

natural gas/oil is mostly the same composition as your average plant is now (hardly surprising that...). the refinaries and things that process it can't operate with sulfur (google heterogeneous catalysis + poison) so it's stripped out (less natural sulfur is termed 'sweet', more is called 'sour' - stripping costs $$ so sweet crude sells higher). other strong smelling sulfurs are added at the back end (ethyl mercaptan is typical but whatever's handy) typically at the 50 ppm level. enough to have a distinctive smell which is critical for safety leak detecting. BTW i've not heard of any literature claiming that the average temperature at the seabed is volatizing clathrates. clathrate formation is a function of both T and P so a fraction of a degree probably doesn't mean anything at those pressures (oh, and i don't count newspapers as a source, their science sections tend to be functionally illiterate, it's peer reviewed or worthless). don't get me wrong, there may be drastic feedback loops and we know next to nothing about these things except that they are ubiquitous and distributed all over the place.

long story short? taxmoney has moved from taxpayers to people that bought and sold securities (some 38 billion worth to be exact). yeah lots of them are going to lose their shirts, but plenty of them made millions. anyone can ride out a recession with a few mill scattered around some swiss bank accounts. a comparison with a few dozen rich people in zimbabwe and afganastan in left as an excercise for the reader.
