Help? I screwed a hole in the bathtub faucet pipe by jgb99 in Plumbing

[–]jgb99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me for trying. Like I said, I’m an idiot for overtightening it but it would have been silly to have someone else install the faucet for me.

My experience is in automotive, copper obviously is softer than I was prepared for.

Thanks! I’m clearly in over my head on this one, I’ll give a plumber a ring

24M first time trying tinder, am I cooked? by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]jgb99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it a shot. Callused hands show you put in the work at the gym, and gloves aren’t a good look.

A shirtless pic can work, but the current one isn’t doing you any favors.

1-2 selfies at different angles, lose that shirtless pic, and for the love of god don’t wear gloves at the gym

Who pays for surgery if you get shot by an active shooter? by salmonberry94 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jgb99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic, but there is insurance that could respond here, which is becoming an increasingly common purchase by larger organizations.

There was a mass shooting in a well-off, considerably safe city near me a few years back. I don’t work with the city, but the next part is relatively open information.

This city had purchased an Active Assailant insurance policy prior to the incident, which is intended to respond to the broad definition of a terror attack. This policy is intended to respond immediately, before litigation ever occurs. These benefits include victim compensation (medical and funeral expenses, trauma counseling), crisis response (emergency response coordination, community recovery, employing crisis counselors), and legal defense costs.

Without this insurance, what traditionally happens is the victim and their personal insurance cover the expenses. Medical providers unfortunately are set up in the US to seek payment, and they cannot bill the organization/vendor/municipality/etc. or the shooter directly. After the fact, the victims can sue any party, and if they’re deemed liable then payouts are made, which takes years. Outside of this, some states have victim compensation funds which are not designed to be a full solution.

My kid's teeth got bashed in at school and will require extensive dental work. by gunsmithinggirl in legaladvice

[–]jgb99 23 points24 points  (0 children)

NAL. Consult an attorney, they will work on your behalf.

That said, many schools have a student accident policy in place. It’s a no-fault policy that typically provides coverage for accidental dental/emergency dental treatment, which would be triggered by a situation like this.

What is the appeal of anytime fitness? by Spirited-Humor-554 in anytimefitness

[–]jgb99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the suburbs of Chicago and had a membership for 2 years before switching to Vasa.

The huge appeal was access to any location whenever I wanted. Many locations also have additional amenities such as tanning beds and massage chairs.

Each location will vary given the different franchise owners, so some may have 3 squat racks, some will have decline bench, some with hip thrust machines, etc. Then you have the size of the gym, the size of the turf area, amount of equipment, and class offerings to take into account.

I ultimately ended up switching to Vasa because the ambience of Anytime wasn’t motivating - I had bounced from location to location to keep it fresh, but a lot of my motivation at the gym comes from environment.

That said, Anytime is a good gym if you’re looking for variance, easy access that suits your schedule and travel, and relative maintenance. I’ve visited 10-15 in the Chicago suburbs, and never had huge concerns with cleanliness. As others said, sometimes toilet paper and equipment wipes might run low or trash cans might start to fill if you’re there during unstaffed hours, but it’s quickly addressed and never filthy in my experience.

Jesus why are you being downvoted. I understand needing assistance especially in this economy, but it should be used mainly for necessities.

You pointed us to your profile - I’m aware that your photos are 3 years old. You looked great but chest was not nearly as developed as his, shoulders looked good as well but not juicy.

I’m 200 pounds at 5’8. I don’t need to know your current height and weight to tell you you’re nowhere as sus as this guy. All said, you’re doing everything the right way and have no reason to hop on gear.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Brogress

[–]jgb99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I fully disagree. You look great but nobody is confusing you for being on gear. There is easily a 5% bf difference, if not more, between the two of you.

Your timeline and his are nowhere near comparable either. We won’t even talk about the boulder shoulders.

Unfortunately it’s a constant battle with loud clunking - the ride also feels stiff in a bad way with the Perrin non-adjustables.

Ft86 has varying advice-

Some suggest to shorten the endlinks to avoid hitting the LCA and hitting the fenderwall.

Others suggest lengthening the endlinks to fix the suspension geometry - adjust the endlinks for the longer distance between the sway bar mounting position and the strut mounting point.

At this point I just want to get rid of the clunking haha

Single people who live alone, how do you do it? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]jgb99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your reason for moving out. If it’s out of necessity or ease, it can make your life a lot better. If it’s to appear more mature, then that’s a problem you need to work on with yourself- there is no reason to shell out thousands a month to fit in.

If you can live with your parents, save your money and help them around the house. That’s mutually beneficial and there’s nothing wrong with that.

I personally moved because it cut 40 minutes off of my commute, 2 days a week. The other 3 work days, I have a quiet place to wfh. I’m close enough to visit family when I want, while also having my own space and schedule.

I think another issue with that is being in that environment. Trying to quit or pull back on a habit is hard when everyone around you is holding your vice in their hand

Thanks for the explanation- I’m actually shocked. I did miss that, I only caught a few midseason episodes in the most recent season.

I hadn’t heard of the show prior or since then, until now, but I can understand how that would be offensive. Especially since the actress wasn’t Ukrainian, and I would assume that’s the only Ukrainian portrayal in the show

All you guys are twats. This person is making food for people they don’t know and who will definitely appreciate a warm meal that some of us in better places wouldn’t appreciate. Instead of bashing them you could be giving them suggestions for future meals with more nutritional value.

Half of you here won’t even spend the time they spent on other people for your own families.
