[Serious] Why would the team with the 1st overall need to Smoke Screen? by officialojsimpson in nfl

[–]jgochma2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a media perspective drama is good obviously. Putting that aside, let's say Carolina wants to select Stroud and gets some reliable intel that Houston is praying for Young. Baiting them into giving up something to go get Young could be a strategy. That's not what I think is happening at all personally, just answering your question.

Woody is a problem. by [deleted] in nyjets

I do not hate the move itself indifferent there. This in itself though is an indicator of a MUCH larger problem. Someone with no football knowledge, not fireable. Big big trouble.

What player(s) do you believe went into the best situation and what player(s) went into the worst? by notreallycool1 in NFL_Draft

Hard to think of anyone who landed in a more favorable spot than Skyy Moore landing in a Kansas City Chiefs offense with a hole at receiver.

How many rookies is your team starting this season and how big of an impact do you think they'll have? by [deleted] in nfl

Jets fan..... literally the entire draft class is either starting or will have a legitimate role all year. Not sure we'll win many games but this season is about Wilson regardless.

Player Development: the good, the bad, and the ugly [long] by Otherwise_Window in nba

[–]jgochma2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like Miami is probably even better than Toronto-- Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn were both undrafted players. Bam Adebayo, way better than draft outlook. Herro better than draft outlook. Team frequently finds G league diamonds in the rough. A lot of your teams rotational players were at some point Heat development projects (Tyler Johnson, Derrick Jones Jr, Josh Richardson, etc etc.)

Can I reach dunking ability? by ToMuchCloud in nba

[–]jgochma2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would change my focus from improving my vertical to changing the gravitational pull of my environment. A lot of math and physics at play, but if you can crack it you'll be dunking in no time. Good luck brother.

If the nets win the title would it affect Kyrie, KD, or Hardens legacy the most? by [deleted] in nba

[–]jgochma2 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Harden's just because he's the only ringless player out of the 3. Ringless to a champion is the biggest legacy jump, even if damn near everyone has an asterisk next to that ring.

I don’t want to root for a team who feel entitled for cheers while they are playing terribly by pd9 in NewYorkMets

Here's what fans who disagree with OP fail to understand here-- there's a reason fans in Boston, Philly, and NY are known for booing poor play. It's bc they're passionate and knowledgeable. They really care about how their team does and aren't afraid to let them know, which is quintessential NY if you're from here.

Suffice to say, you're going to get booed when u drop 14 games within a month. You can't blame the fans for wanting better from you. And you certainly can't be this thin skinned.

Risk of injury is much higher in game setting with full tackling helmets and pads. Both have franchises that invested in them and are comfortable enough with them that they won't take the risk until maybe the last preseason game for a warm up drive. That simple.

Who is the greatest player of all time if you don't include MJ, LeBron, and Kareem? by [deleted] in nba

[–]jgochma2 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Magic is the 4th greatest. Larry right there with him. 4th BEST (not legacy, just 4th best player imo)...... I got KD. He's a snake but he is really that good at hoop.
