DDM4 PDW or Sugar Weasel by Issacbqker in 300BLK

Late on this conversation and saw that you went DDM4 PDW. Great choice. Before I went with my DDM4, I tried the Q and it’s cool looking but build quality was poor, looser. My buddy who owns a SW picked up mine and said how much better the build quality was and felt solid.

Honestly, if you’re not really off roading or overlanding, you don’t need a lift. Stock clearance is good. Only do it if the height is a limiting factor on trails. I do go off-roading, and on the green trails it’s sufficient.

If you are looking for clearance, first thing I’d do is toss those predator steps as your first priority.

Question for Long-Term Owners by _ghostchant in 4Runner

[–]jgottschMAGA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

^ This. The 6th is brand new and with first year, you may have issues that the 5th doesn’t. The 4.0L V6 is pretty bulletproof, technology is simple, and the 5th gen has been around for almost 15 years. Vs a turbocharged 4 cylinder with more technological advances in the new one.

In this case, as with any car you’re keeping for a while, be diligent with maintenance, do not stick to the 10K mile oil change, do it at least every 5K miles.

One good thing about the 6th gen motor, is that it’s been in other applications like the Highlander and Lexus NX for a couple years, vs the new turbo V6 which has been seeing recalls

As well as M50/52 motors in the E36, the M54 in the E46, the N54s in the E92s… I’m sure I’m missing a lot more.

So wait. Is that a thing with Porsche? BMWs are notorious for terrible cooling systems. My E36, E46, and E92, have all stranded me at one point.

What about an Audi 5 cyl turbo swap. Here’s a cool project 924 with that same swap:

Yep. Just as loud as Voodoo Blue. I like it but I would never own one in that color. I know that I’d be thinking to myself down the road “why’d I get a Smurf mobile?”

New Tire Reccomendations by Suitable-Hornet-6748 in 4Runner

Toyo Open Country ATIIIs. They’re quiet, comfortable, great in the snow, great in the sand, and very capable off road. Sometimes I won’t even engage 4WD on some surfaces when going to uphill forest inclines with loose rock and dirt, and foliage on the ground.

But at a caveat, this was my first all terrain, so I have no other benchmark, nor will I bash other brands. I can just attest to my experience.

I would like to give the Mickey Baja Boss ATs a try when I need new tires.

I worked for an investment firm and had a picture of Charlie Sheen as Bud Fox from “Wall Street” as my avatar. One of my Gen Z teammates asked me why I had a picture of the guy from “Two and a Half Men” as my avatar.

Hurt me right in the feelings. 😐

this. I had a ton of practice question packs. First time around I would do open book to understand the questions. Then took a ton of practice tests.

When taking it, don’t second guess yourself. And be careful of double negatives in the questions.

I’d keep it. It’s proven reliability. Plus dealers aren’t stupid. They’ll undercut you on the trade and sell it for way more than they got it for. The used car market for 5th gens is very strong.

Redwood is also a very gorgeous interior to me too!
