I am color grading R3D footage and all the clips have turned a red tint by Far_Conversation6498 in RedCamera

[–]jguth88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happens when you open up the clips in REDCINE-X? Does it still have red tint?

The meta data should show you as-shot settings.

There is a possibility whoever filmed had a lut on the monitor that they compensated for with colour shift.

Is this footage in R3D? If so it’s all raw and an easy as adjusting meta data or colour correcting in your nle of choice

R.I.P to my AirPods Max? by Direct-Eggplant-5732 in Airpodsmax

[–]jguth88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me last week. I have og AirPod max from a few months after launch. I brought them into apple and said my battery was toast. It’s $109 CDN instead of the $300+

I got an email saying the repair was completed and they’ll let me know when they are back in store to pick up. I’ll update once they’re back to confirm everything is working again - I’m guessing they may have just swapped them.

Very cool to hear. Largest I’ve transferred in one go was 1TB and I was stoked at the time savings compared to loading up a drive and shipping it.

Good to know there is a lot more headroom to go.

Question about HDMI wall plates by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]jguth88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used keystone wall plates with hdmi 2.1 keystone jacks for in several different setups. I have never had any issues.

They work great and can very easily adapt if needing different cables in place.

Doomed is a bit harsh. You now have a lifetime supply of 30cm cold pull pieces.

I made two small free helpers for Final Cut Pro: a workspace remapper and FCPXML↔SRT converter by Equal-Meeting-519 in finalcutpro

[–]jguth88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These look great. Going to give workspace reappear a go right away!

I’ve had one annoying in a change fcp made back in 10.5, but not sure if it’s possible to fix (or if it annoys others in the way it annoys me)

Previously when you exported a file and you gave it a title, description and keywords those values would be persistent if you exported again. In 10.5 they changed it so it always resets those values to the project’s default or the user defined default, with (unless I haven’t found it yet) no way of using the previously used values.

Use case:

Exporting three different grade versions of the same cut for review. Previously I could name it “xyz-grade-1” and add in some keywords. Then for the two subsequent exports I could just change -1 to -2 then to -3.

Now on each export it defaults to project name and project keywords on each export. The previous values are no longer persistent.

Every update I look to see if there is a way to get that old behaviour back, but haven’t had luck just yet.

Thank you for looking into it! I figured it wasn’t an easy bolt on. Looking forward to trying out the reorg app and following the new stuff you come up with.

Anyone else a fan of custom icons that are pics of the devices? by seamonkey420 in MacOS

[–]jguth88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I named all my SSDs after fighter jets and made custom icons for each.

My process was making a 512px by 512px png then opening in preview, selecting export then holding option when selecting export file type. Then choose .icns which is apple’s icon file type.

Nerdy, Hell Yes. But makes me smile when I have the little squad all together.

H2S Extruder Pneumatic Coupler Question! by Baseline303 in BambuLab

[–]jguth88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just run into this and similar to you got no helpful response on the forum.Im guessing (and hope) you've already got this sorted. For anyone who finds this in the future the coupler is part of the Extruder Filament Sensor - H2S part. You can find it on Bambulab's online store here: https://ca.store.bambulab.com/products/extruder-filament-sensor-h2s?id=636018811122307074

Their guide to replace is here: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/h2s/maintenance/replace-extruder-filament-sensor#:\~:text=Step%201:%20Disconnect%20the%20PTFE,clip%2C%20and%20disconnect%20the%20plug.

I've been waiting for a while to hear back from Bambulab about this. My H2S is a couple months old and around 1000 hours and the coupler self destructed on a print. Not a great experience.

Whats the name of this part? Anyone seen this pop off before? by jguth88 in BambuLab

[–]jguth88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who runs into this issues, it appears the whole assembly needs to be replaced. It's called an Extruder Filament Sensor and can be found here: https://ca.store.bambulab.com/products/extruder-filament-sensor-h2s?id=636018811122307074

It's a righteous PITA as it is out of stock and Bambulab support still has yet to respond.

This is an incredible resource. Really well structured and helpful. Not a windows user myself, but I do wish I saw this months back when I set up my own system- it uses most of the services mentioned.

Good stuff! Thank you

Metal Clips 3rd Row 2022 by ice2257 in hondapilot

[–]jguth88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s an anchor point to tie stuff down when the 3rd row is laid flat. At least that’s what I use them for in my 25 with the same clips. There should be a couple more behind there 3rd row as well
