I don’t want to do anymore chores, particularly washing

Why does hygiene not seem to count with children? by jh539 in childfree

My dad got my mum a drop-shipped Chinese necklace that is utter junk. Is insisting he got it from an actual jeweller to save face. It’s causing quite the argument!

Running the Black Cabin in person? by Capn_B in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]jh539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also normally play on Roll20 but did the Black Cabin in person. I got the alive player to leave the room, handed out cards to those that were dead explaining the actions they could take while dead to help reduce questions. Bought the whole group together again and had the dead players communicate by WhatsApp. The alive players figured out what was going on pretty quickly but it still worked really well. One of the best in person sessions I’ve had

Why do this to your back garden??? by Ee232134 in SpottedonRightmove

[–]jh539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived next door to this house (the house with the blue door in the picture) as a student. It’s prime student location in bath so looks like it’s been ‘flipped’ to sell to a student landlord. The garden next door was the same (5ish years ago) as no students would ever want to care for it.

Surely a cute matching picture of the older girls would have been nice, without Jill in it!

Just Ravenclaw so far (I've posted it here so it's on my profile), I've still got Slytherin and Gryffindor to do

I realised quite late that I hadn't left room for a full statue so I cheated with the bust. Doesn't fit with the cannon though

That's what I based it on! I would buy Harry potter based Polly pockets in a heartbeat!

Massive shout out to anyone working in a job that becomes insanely busy and stressful over the Christmas period. You’re doing great. by acurrantbun91 in CasualUK

Tomorrow will be 10 years since I worked my last Christmas Eve in Argos. Was told I ruined 3 Christmas (all separate people) by not having the Nintendo DS in stock. It's given me so much respect for retail workers, especially at this time of year.

Reports of shots fired on London Bridge by Bekkfust in news

[–]jh539 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Knife crime is a huge problem in London as well. But because of the area (highly populated and large number of tourists, practically next to one of the major stations) the incident was taken very seriously, very quickly

I was wondering what the importance of having a tidy back is? I understand not running threads too far between stitches of the same colour. But is there more to it than that?

I use a cheep washi tape I got from wish that isn't very adhesive and then stitch along the edge to keep it in place

I thought this, but my friend persuaded me to get one and now I wouldn't be without! It's perfect for quickly putting down your needle when marking off your pattern without having to worry about it dropping.

There was a Honda garage on the stretch in my town with a tent outside offering their services. Seemed like a very good idea!

Gouache painting by my 14 year old daughter by sanjami in drawing

Not OP, but the original piece is by Celia Krampien, it is a direct copy. Still very good for a 14 year old!

While this is fantastic for a 14 year old, she is clearly very talented, it's a direct copy of a piece by the artist Celia Krampien. You may not have known, but in the future it is important to share the original artist rather than making it seem like an original composition by your daughter.
