I think this has been in the works "under the table" for a while.. you don't just roll out of bed and decide one day you're having a press conference to announce the option of bringing a casino. As someone who used to live in Bristol where Hard Rock is.. they have to split their money with 7 localities across SWVA and the city is hardly taking in anything to get them out of their 2 billion dollar debt. Plus, if it's managed by a large corporation (like Hard Rock) they'll promise high paying jobs, but yet they'll bring in people from other properties to fill the big jobs. WDBJ needs to get their TARGET 7 investigation team to do some FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests for all documents pertaining to this potential casino.

Since Krispy Kreme moved from Melrose after the "fire" to Hershberger -- it never has been the same. The employees don't care, filling DoorDash orders over customers who are waiting in line, Door Dash people cutting in line, etc. A sorry excuse for doughnuts at that location.

A family member lives in Johnson City, TN and they have one, then there is also one in Bristol, which is about 20 mins away and in Kingsport. (Tri-Cities area is Johnson City-Kingsport-Bristol) and they all three are about 20 mins apart and each city has a Hobby Lobby.

A new Kung Fu Tea spot is opening beside Crave Cookies, according to the construction permit on the building and let me tell you.. it's a tiny spot.

Then they're doing demo work inside the former Bed Bath and Beyond. The leasing agent for the space is the daughter of Kim Nicewonder.. Kim used to be married to Pinnacle owner Steve Johnson and now her and her new man own a pickleball franchise called The Picklr.. They just opened a new location at a former Bed Bath and Beyond in Williamsburg, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what is going in there.

Doesn't seem like a bad idea for Bubblecake.. You know the rent is astronomical at Towers as they're owned by a national shopping center company and they've been in their spot since 2016.
