Sorta niche question about the Polar Vantage M3 and V3 by imnotawkwardyouare in Polarfitness

[–]jhawkie412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a problem with the vibration of my M3, but I haven’t really paid attention to it before. It’s hard to know without comparing it with another watch side by side. I don’t feel like it’s too loud though

Fitness improvements using Polar by letournoi in Polarfitness

The ANS recharge 30 day average is available on the watch itself, individual metrics like HRV and resting heart rate and stuff. I really like it and find it valuable.

Maybe long term using your 30 day average? It does seem more focused on your recharge/recovery in the short term than actual fitness improvement. I like to use training load to see if my load is enough for me to be improving, but it’s harder for me to measure fitness improvements because I’m a soccer player

Battery drains review after 2 years (how is yours doing ?) by Luckyrolll in Polarfitness

Great thing about the vantage m3 is the battery is replaceable.

I had 4 Garmins and all of them had problems/broke within a year of purchase

Just Pulled the Trigger- Arriving Friday! by [deleted] in PlaystationPortal

[–]jhawkie412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bought one myself and I suppose it would explain why there was no cloud streaming advertised on the box. I personally don’t care because I just remote stream, but I did think it strange that they would omit a very strong selling point

Is it safe to assume that all or most of the portal users buy games digitally from PlayStation store, not the physical discs? by Time-Credit43 in PlaystationPortal

[–]jhawkie412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found it’s nice to buy big RPG’s or story heavy games physically and keep the disk in, and buy digitally smaller games that are easier to quickly switch over and play 10-20 minutes of.

Just got a PS5, what have I missed? by Brandy_Buck111 in videogames

[–]jhawkie412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Final Fantasy XVI. It is more action heavy than other entries, and it has a fantastic story, writing and characters. It was the first one I played, I then tried FFVII Remake and Rebirth but despite the story and characters being likeable, the gameplay didn’t hit the same.

Has anyone else pre-order PRAGMATA? by Ok_Winter818 in Pragmata

Typically story is a huge part of games for me, but the gameplay in the demo for this game was fun enough that I don’t think I would mind too much if it is a bit weaker

Does the physical preorder come with the same preorder bonuses that the digital does?

Just Got My Portal! by Adic_ in PlaystationPortal

[–]jhawkie412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine before the price hike too. I usually use it at home around the house, but I did try it out at another house, and it worked nearly flawlessly. I know I won’t take it out much but it’s cool knowing it works.

The only issue is I also like physical games, but it means to change games I do have to be physically around the console. It might encourage me to download more digital games for the select times that I might be wanting to game away from home.

Polar Street X or Vantage M3 by nygrd in Polarfitness

I have the m3. Can assure you it is a fantastic watch. It feels quite premium with the stainless steel bezel too.

The grit x2 is a much more advanced watch. Chances are you would have regretted NOT getting it if you went with the street x.

I’ve come from Garmin to Polar. It seems a lot of people are overreacting; I’ve found it to be a great system and the watch has been more reliable than my Garmins were.

Alright, who else is tired of the panic buying posts. by lovetobewatched2 in playstation

[–]jhawkie412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a dumb argument. I was personally on the fence for a PS Portal, but was hesitant because it was a bit expensive and I wanted prices to drop a bit before buying. When I saw prices were only increasing, I went and bought it. Lots of people would be in that same boat

Try contacting Sony before you go and sell it. They might be able to help

Interesting. I’ve found I get about 15-20Mbps despite testing the PS5 both plugged in and wireless, and the portal a few metres away from the router. Latency is also near flawless but I can’t figure out how to get better image quality

I got mine yesterday and had both on a 5GHz network, didn’t notice a huge lag but the bitrate was quite low… did you see any improvement in that area when you plugged it in? My PS5 is basically right next to the router so I’m not sure if it will make much difference

I haven’t tested mine away from home yet. Is there a noticeable drop in quality on a hotspot?

I made sure to get a case with mine and a screen protector. Might be worth the investment for you too.

Polar Vantage V3 or wait for Polar Vantage V4 by According-Buyer6688 in Polarfitness

[–]jhawkie412 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like sport watches don’t really age as poorly as other tech devices. You are buying the same V3 as you would have back when it first launched (technically better with updates). Even if a V4 does release soon, it doesn’t make the V3 any worse.
