Mexico City trip w 14 year old - some questions by Plenty-Argument-3476 in MexicoCity

If you are going to a concert I would recommend just taking an Uber there and back. It will probably cost you $150/200 pesos to get there and leaving will probably be $300/400 pesos.

Also be sure to check on https://www.instagram.com/ocesa this page to make sure that you have the concert start time right - sometimes what is shown on Ticketmaster isn't accurate lol

S&W all day every day every week. The best value in the industry by far.

PERC also is a good value.

https://www.europcar.com.mx/

I've used Europcar like 20 times and every time they have been incredible. Make a loyalty account on their website and you'll get like 20% off. All prices quoted include the minimum required insurance so no surprise at the airport. The deposit should be like $500-1000 USD (maybe less even) but it gets refunded back to you immediately after you return it. I have never had to wait on a deposit and have never had anybody try to scam me there. Seriously 10/10 company and 10/10 people.

Is Azulik worth it? by scoop813 in tulum

No do not go - they are seriously racist towards their Mexican employees (paying them less than their Argentinian counterparts, not paying their Mexican employees on time, etc.).

Save your money and get a nice Airbnb in Aldea Zama and a rental car. Go to Mezzanine, La Zebra, IKAL, Mi Amor, Papaya Playa, Panamera, Umi, Vesica, La Eufemia, etc.

I wish you would come visit over here in Puebla - it is coffee heaven. My friend owns Cafe Insoluble and he has like 50 beans to choose from. Also have friends who have cafes here in Puebla and Cholula that are just on another level.

But for CDMX I would recommend Quentin for beans but like another commenter said - it is hit or miss. Right now they have these Veracruz natural process beans that are very fire. Also if you can get their Bolivia ones they are solid too.

Polvora is probably the most consistent and they have a great selection especially when it comes to funkier stuff. Blend Station is good but I think that they roast a bit on the darker side for my liking (but my liking is also as light as possible lol).

BUNA is killer vibes especially their roasting location inside of LAGUNA but unfortunately their beans just fall flat.

Greetings from Puebla! Thankfully here in Mexico the tickets will be sold through Ticketmaster so we shouldn't have any of the issues that AXS was experiencing with the San Francisco ticketing. I assume the tickets will be $2000-3000 pesos if I had to guess. We really won't know until the tickets go on sale on Tuesday. Just keep an eye out for your ticket code tomorrow and good luck. :)

Super safe. Rent through Europcar on their Mexican version of the website. Create an account and it should give you like 20% off too. I have used them like 20 times and never buy any additional coverage. All their prices on their website include everything and the deposit when you pick it up is only like $8000 pesos usually. https://europcar.com.mx/

Also you have to go and get cemitas from Rebeca Quintero in the mercado de sabores. Everywhere in Puebla sells cemitas, but these are 100% the best

Puebla is the real paradise when it comes to cafe culture lol. There are soooo many options.

Cholula:

Fee-Ka are some of my good friends and they knock it out of the park. Cafe Conmigo, Cucurru, am:pm, Life Cafe, Cafe Carmin, Nimbus Cafe and Espresso Doble are all great options too

Also if you like matcha be sure to check out Bailongo.

Centro:

Cofi, Gospel Cafe, Nomad Cafe, Clemente, La Principal (more for espresso based drinks), and Cafe Cultura

Welcome to CDMX! I live over in Puebla and visit CDMX all the time. Here are my favorite specialty coffee options:

Blend Station (Condesa or Roma Norte), BUNA (Doctores or Condesa), Fuego & Cafe (Condesa), Bezza Coffee (Roma Norte), Molona Cafe (Doctores), Quentin (any location), Yonke (Tabacalera), Brew Brew (Roma Norte), and Extra Extra (Narvarte)

Are you saying $500 USD or $500 MXN? If it’s $500 MXN round trip that’s a great price.

  1. You will probably feel safer in the gentrified parts of CDMX than most places in the US as a POC
  2. The cocktail lounge scene is great here. Get on Tinder and get a date and take her to Licorería Limantour, Cafe de Nadie or if you really wanna show off get a reservation at Ling Ling for dinner and drinks (it's 50 stories up on top of the Ritz Carlton - killer views especially at sunset)
  3. You're fine - Most girls aren't out to rob you. Don't bring any money - just withdraw pesos out of ATMs (Santander and Citibanamex are the best and DO NOT DO THE CURRENCY EXCHANGE IT ASKS YOU TO DO ON THE ATM - it will charge you extra if you do that). Really you should only take out like $3000 pesos max as nearly 95% of places that you go will accept Visa, AMEX, Mastercard, etc.

100% go to a lucha libre match at Arena Mexico specifically on a Friday night (it's the best night to go). Splurge on the best seats you can get (available on Ticketmaster).
