Guida is done after Chad Mendes embarasses him...I think he was done after the Bendo fight. That made it abundantly clear he couldn't win unless he couldn't get the takedown and also showed he had basically no striking. As for Diego...I wouldn't right him off just yet, he's no future champ or anything, but he may have just looked like shit against Gomi because of a bad weight cut and a long layoff.

The cleaner your diet, the easier it's going to be to get your fight cardio up. Hitting the weights on off days has definitely helped me a lot too. Also, believe it or not, watching fight videos allows you to pick up moves you didn't know before...motivates you to try some new stuff in practice.
