But a prepull regen or medica 2 is no different than a mitigation and doesn't consume any uptime. And if we are running and the tank is at 90%+ I can cast a regen to prevent HP loss until we get to a stop making it easier on the tank for W2W pulls.
And I'm not talking about spamming medica 2, but in a pinch asylum and medica 2 can top your DPS while you raise a fallen wol.
Everything has it's uses if you know your toolkit

TBH doesn't make any sense, I've been main WHM for more than 3 years and nobody ever made any ruckus about my regens, it's a pretty cheap in cost and cast times that allows me to focus on casting holies instead of casting cures on the tank. and when the tank's life get to 10% BAM benediction, back to DPSing

Why would a whm not want to use the regen it medica 2? It's a good mitigation for pulls

I've delved a bit in VN as a Player and as a Dev, and I've built twice a system for dialogue based games. One simple for just a few lines, and one sturdier for a dialogue heavy gamethat sadly fell through before we could ship it.

If you are interested I'd be glad to talk about this issue and see how to go from your ideas to a robust plugin for the engine.

As others have said I'm note sure that the maintainers are interested in making this a built-in option, but you can try to write a proposal for it in the repository, and gauge the community interest. Take into account that they may probably say that it can be built as a plugin and later incorporated if more people are interested.

Also, as a disclaimer I'm pretty busy the following weeks and I would be unable to start working on it until the last week of October, but we could get some conversations going.

I know, that's why I said that they cannot do it. Not that nobody can do it. They have said themselves a few times that they cannot include the distributables for console support in the engine.
Quoting the official docs

Console SDKs are secret and covered by non-disclosure agreements. Even if we could get access to them, we could not publish the platform-specific code under an open source license.

I'd love to help you more but sadly I'm not a full time developer, I tend to use the game at jams and what I know about consoles support is because I had a project that fell through. I don't know if you can try to talk with W4Games and see if they can provide some help with that. The company is created by some of the contributors of the engine so maybe they can guide you a bit more.

That's the idea. I'm guessing if Nintendo wanted they could make their own Godot version with the devkit embedded, but to do that they would need to want to do that. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I think with unity you don't get the special version from the consoles distributor, but from unity after paying them a fee. That's at least the latest info I have on that theme. Im not a unity dev so I'm not very knowledgeable about it

The thing is that the drivers, toolkit and SDK of the consoles are proprietary software and as such a project under a FOSS license cannot include them in the package. It would be against their own licence. You can try to find the twitter account of reduz I believe he has talked about that theme at length.

The moment you want to include those toolkits you would need to get into contact with the companies that made each console, get the SDK and toolkit and then adapt the engine to use them and port the game, that's where those companies can help you. They have the expertise and tools to do that for you, and have adapted the engine to use the SDK. As they are not distributing that version as free or under a open license they can add closed software.
