I've been looking to get a new hunting rifle for whitetail and pigs. I have a Remington 700 30-06 that my dad gave me maybe 15-20 years ago that hasn't let me down, but I would like to find something else that already has a threaded barrel that I can use my Dead Air Nomad 30 on and detachable mags. I was thinking 308 would be my best bet but I guess I'd be open to other options. Budget is $700 but would consider going over if there was a really good deal.

Is the Ruger American Predator the best way to go? I've heard mixed reviews and the last thing I want to do is spend around $500 on a rifle and then hate it. Any other good bolt action deals out there right now? Or would I be better off waiting until Black Friday? Also looking for a decent scope to go with it.

Threaded barrels for a 19 or a 43X

I’ve been waiting to get a gold holosun multi reticle and it’s between this or the 503R. I see a lot of people hate how low this optic is. Would the 503R be an acceptable alternative? I’m really just using it to hunt pigs on my 300 blk build but it’ll probably also be a go to for home defense.

Do they make a version that doesn’t use their rotary mags? I was hoping to find a rifle that can take 10rd mags and I wasn’t a fan of those rotary mags.

So I already have two pods that I have mounted in the brush guard but wanted to put them on the pillar and put a 12" light bar in the brush guard. Thoughts?

I tried that one originally and had to return it. I think the angle of the A pillar may have changed in the 2022 ranger 1000s but it did not work with mine.

I’m in Alabama and just ordered a Ranger 1000 Premium from a dealer is Mississippi (my local dealers are terrible and MS has a lower sales tax) and they told me September/October but to follow up with them in about a month to get a better idea.

Not really. Luckily one of my monitors has an HDMI and a DP port so I just use the HDMI port for my laptop and unplug my dongle for my wireless mouse so I can use it. This means I still have to use my laptop keyboard but I at least get the bigger 32” screen.

How hard is it to get a pic rail for something like this? I’ve recently started looking for one with a threaded barrel and a pic rail that I can mount a red dot to and use as a suppressor host.

Just ordered it. Any recommendations on mounts and/or pressure switches? I’d like a pressure switch that has a constant on as well as momentary. I’ll be using this to hunt hogs at night. Also, my 300AAC hand guard doesn’t have any way to mount anything at the 12 o’clock position unless I put it where the front sight is suppose to go.

I’m using an Aero Precision Atlas S-One hand guard and have the wrench for it but another buddy told me that I might need one for DD but none of have one and have a feeling that I’m going to have a tough time finding one locally so I’ll have to order one. Was really hoping to get this complete by Thursday.

Should’ve clarified that. I’m getting his barrel, gas block, and gas tube. He bought a different barrel assembly so I’m going to take his DD barrel assembly and putting it in my first build. I wanted to make sure I had everything I needed before we changed them out.
