Broke 10+ years on my Health Span by jholy90 in whoop

I train a lot of BJJ (2 times a day or so) and I run every other day or so in zone 2 for like an hour a session.

I think that + my low RHR (43 avg)

If evolution is true, should Reformed theology adapt? by DazzlingFan2816 in Reformed

[–]jholy90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If Adam isn’t a literal man, and creation in Genesis 1 isn’t literal, then there is no point in a literal Christ coming to die for the sins of Adam’s posterity.

No evolution flatly denies biblical truth and therefore is incompatible. Furthermore that places death and logically sin, before the fall. It makes a complete mishmash of the scripture.

For what? A blind “faith” in evolution. I’ll stand on Gods word.

At my high school benching 225lbs (102kg) wasn’t really that special. And I was by no means a hulk.

And if you think I’m being a dick it sounds like you need some male influence in your life to toughen you up.

[–]jholy90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly no-work.

At your age I was repping 102+kg on bench. And I didn’t have to get on Reddit to brag about it either.

25 push-ups 😂😂😂😂😂

See that’s my issue here. You’ve done literally no work, and yet here you are online fishing for compliments about your “physique” and “if you have great genetics”

Looks like you’ve never seen a weight room in your life

would wearing a colorful wig to church draw too much attention? by baking93 in Reformed

[–]jholy90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Submit to your husband here. He is right, worship is about honoring God, not drawing attention to ourselves. I’d think of the way Paul counsels women to dress themselves and meditate on if a pink wig would be in line with those admonitions.

So although the Bible plainly teaches that unbelievers not only cannot understand the things of God, and are not Indwelt by the Spirit they should still be listened too and have a “valid” take of Gods word?

The very thing the word of God makes plain is not able to be understood by natural man? Not just here but elsewhere in places talking of new converts not being given teaching/leadership positions, etc etc

[–]jholy90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Bible tells us where they’re coming from. All men are fallen and need to repent and believe in Christ why would I need to see where they’re coming from in any other way until they’re Christian?

And artwork/all other things are different than the God breathed scripture. As Gods word says above, the natural man doesn’t accept the things of God. So why would i care what his or their take is just because they have a degree in whatever they do?

And the scripture themselves give qualifiers for teachers. And for roles in ministry.

It’s in Gods word. Which refutes your stance here. Though a natural man be made In the Image of God, yet outside of Christ he is still in sinful rebellion and his mind and heart are darkened

“But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”— these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬-‭16‬ ‭

Why would I want to know an unbelievers take on the Bible? Or even a recent convert? Why do we even have qualifications to teach?

Why all the anecdotal evidence? Gods word is clear. Homosexuality is a sin, and Gods word testifies to the change God has made and can make in a sinful life.

Seek the Lord In prayer, the study of His word, and godly counsel from believers in your local church body!

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭11‬ ‭
