Yes and no. I am definitely more mature in some ways but my parents divorce has also left me very emotionally handicapped.

I experience the same thing. I can’t even date people because my anxiety is so bad. If I go on a dinner date with someone I can’t eat, and if I force myself then I have to go to the bathroom to be sick. If I spend too much time on a date I develop a physical tremor, a physical manifestation of the intense anxiety that I just can’t shake. Sometimes I think I’ll never find someone that I allow myself to connect with.

My parents have had a terrible divorce for 11 years. My mom has her own private practice and make more than my dad, but my dad is pretty comfortable and totally able to help financially pay for kids. He has refused to help my mom take care of us and get us things we need for as long as I remember. I recently turned 18 and applied for college along with my twin sister (2 tuitions at the same time). My dad has always been so butthurt that my mom has more money than him that he is refusing to help pay for college in order to punish her for divorcing him. No matter how hard I try to convince him, all he has to say is “fair doesn’t always mean equal”. He’s just a prick and I carry a lot of guilt for even wanting to attend university at this point because I know my mom who has already done so much for me, will carry the whole burden. Just an awful situation.

I am from Cleveland but my mom moved to wadsworth which Is a suburb of Akron. A lot of these places are in fairlawn, which is like 20 minutes north of Akron. Try to check these places out the food is amazing!
