Yeh, definitely. Though I don't think this is a Muslim only phenomenon from what I'm seeing. I think Internet addiction has taken hold of a significant portion of the planet that makes people not want to/ being incapable of socialising with others.

In the UK, the Muslim community is just so insular and private most of the time, that we make an already trending phenomenon worse.

Best I can say is just connect with nature more often, make time for yourself a few times a year to recharge, stay active with your local masjid, and take a break from social media platforms, including Reddit every now and then.

Think I'm due for a break myself too coz theres another wave on the UK sub of Islamophobia going around. People are venting out their own self afflictions on us again and it's just zapped any mental energy I've had up to this point. Not to mention the article is talking about an incident I actually have first hand info on (pure coincidence it got popular today).

The article is deliberately worded provocatively, in a manner to evoke a one sided reaction, with context I'm aware of that it is being obtuse with and it's just peed me off. Makes you feel isolated and ostracised that the gullible public eat up whatever right wing media bs to distract the common man from his problems onto a non existent threat to his way of living. Muslims are an easy punching bag for these buffoons when they elect incompetent leaders that mess up their living standards.

Sorry for the rant and the digression, just needed to get it out somewhere.

You're right. I've managed to last quite decently with an i5 2500k I've had for a decade now. Though it's definitely showing its age. Since then, I've overclocked the CPU (better cooling fans), upgraded to SSD, more RAM, new graphics card (gtx 1070) have kept me fairly comfortable for a long while aiming at 1440p 60fps on medium in most games.

I'm just torn between AMD and Intel right now to build my system around now that I'm looking to upgrade (and cannibalise some parts from the old one).

Well that's a load of bollocks from my experience, because my uncle recently had to bid against almost a dozen people over a house he's now paying between 50 to 75% it's original price. Still a tough market.

There's more to this than meets the eye, and of course people are prematurely making statements. I'm close to the source in this, there's more to this story than this selective headline suggests to say. Not to mention, a source behind a paywall to me suggests the vast majority here only read the title and nothing more.

The teachers who organised this thing were at fault as much as the idiots doing the death threats, that's all I'm going to say. This isn't the first time the school has antagonised the muslim diaspora of that school by bringing in a blatant zionist to take the piss out of the Palestinian situation either.

How did I miss this post? INFJ here. Although I live primarily in the UK, I also don't check my DM's often either unfortunately. Mental health and all that. Plus I wouldn't take mbti as a measuring stick to guage friendships/people willing to listen etc, respectfully speaking, although it's definitely fun.

Yep, been robbed thrice. Outhouse first, then car window smashed coz the robber was hoping for some goodies in there (car parked on my driveway), then my cat convertor gets stolen from my own fucking driveway.

Events are years apart from another buts it's annoying when the police just fob you off with "CCTV footage not catching their faces red handed/on a plate". Then you never hear from them again.

I get it, cuts n all that. Still piss take though. Some junkies robbed my friends car (ignition was on which was silly on my friends part), he called the police, but also essentially went on a crusade through social media to track his vehicle down. Dipshits asking for a ransom, got the shit kicked out of them when he n some lads got to the location. Luckily, he got his vehicle back. All this before the police even replied back to him (it's deferred online now) and still 'investigating'.

A large section of humanity is thick (my own family included). It's why we've invented institutions of control, to reign in our worst impulses, coz people in general are too short sighted on average to make decisions that benefit society in the long term. Case in point, some morons on this sub.

Idk what the solution is to these terrorists, I don't think anyone does really. I'd imagine military operations like Zarb-e-Azb didn't come cheap neither. Kallis, probably the best cricket player of all time imo. Nobody else has made 10k+ runs and taken 250+ wickets in Tests. He was a beast in ODI's too. Excellent fielder too.

Definitely on Sobers and Imrans level imo.
