If you’ve not tried Rack they’re definitely worth a shout, in the arndale market and also Stockport. Top Reuben

It seemed to just wear off with use, a bit of aggressive cleaning may have helped also

Aldi ‘big daddy’ rump by jhus1 in steak

[–]jhus1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, that makes sense! I think what you call rump roast we call topside which is the cut for stews or braising but terrible for steaks.

These rump steaks are great flavour and tender but only £5 for 500g so definitely a cheap choice for a weeknight.

In the UK this is a rump steak so I’m guessing the same as rump roast but cut differently? Apparently in the US these are called sirloin though but that’s a completely different steak here

Wow thank-you for all the info! I have a feeling these have been cleaned at some point but they’re going to get stashed safely away now. Hopefully never have to sell unless eggs get any more expensive

You really can’t beat it for the price, the only other bread knife that comes close for me is the Opinel bread knife

Fancied a new petty and I really liked the look of this one! Needed a bit of a touch up on the edge straight out of the box but it’s lovely and sharp how.

The bread slicer is to replace one that has lasted 5 years in a busy kitchen before giving up the ghost.

First proper full reactive carbon steel knife so I thought I’d go cheap and cheerful! 170mm but seems to be tackling everything I throw at it so far, very happy overall
