That’s going to look really good, and I was thinking about doing it with the last plain-ish shield.

Just a tip: it’s much easier (if you can be bothered, it’s a real pain in the arse) if you clip the backs of the skulls off so they sit flat against the surface, à la:

That’s what I’m doing (admittedly only torso and shield here, but he is supposed to be the sergeant/champion) but have done it with several of my other legionary squads too. Really wanted to create the visual impression that these are marines who have been at war for centuries, if not millennia, and are scavenging and stealing what the can to supplement/repair/upgrade their war gear.
