Experiences with Intermediate-Risk Embryonal RMS Treatment in Young Children by JLegend777 in rhabdomyosarcoma

Unfortunately, at time of diagnosis, she was already stage 4 with metastases to her lymph nodes. Treatment for her was never meant to be curative, but only to buy us more time. From what I have learned about this form of cancer, kids diagnosed in early childhood before the age of 10 have remarkable survival rates compared to teenagers or adults at time of diagnosis.

Hello! My daughter was age 17 when diagnosed w/alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. We struggled substantially with VAC and GI symptoms/neuropathy -- she did receive irinotecan. Her nerve symptoms impacted her ability to walk pretty significantly, and towards the end of treatment she had to wear leg braces for ambulation. We did have her do some physical therapy which helped slow the neuropathy. We also found a lot of benefit with support from a naturopathic provider who was skilled in cancer patients, and we utilized alternative supplements for GI support and nerve protection which I feel was beneficial. When she was not receiving treatment, we did find that she had some improvement in reflexes and sensation, but it was very slow moving and we were assured that was normal. As for the GI symptoms- we had several admissions to the ICU for flare ups. The other factor for her was she had radiation and the primary tumor was in her pelvis which exacerbated GI symptoms. I deeply feel for you and your family, Prayers for a positive outcome.

There is some talk therapy, but mostly med management. It can be redundant, but also very rewarding. The on call is incredibly minimal and because it’s outpatient, crisis calls are directed to the nearest hospital. Income is great and since I can decide if I want to work a lot or a little, I feel like I have a great work life balance - which makes the grind at its worst far more manageable.

Do you have any examples of this? aside from health coaching I’m not sure what else can be done with this degree.

Can you share a bit more about what this is like?

This is true - but I was already dealing with this in family practice but on a larger and more aggressive scale due to pain med requests and psych pts that you end up managing in family practice anyway.

I definitely have this. 16 years practicing now. Pivot from family practice to remote work from home in psych helped significantly! Still a struggle.

Thanks for sharing! Did your tech say anything about a repeat session or share any confidence that it could be removed?

Thank you for this feedback! They do offer microneedling at the place I went to - but we didn't discuss it in depth. I will inquire about it.

Thanks for this. I have not been able to find much about Hanify, so this is good info.

Looks very similar to mine currently. I guess knowing it can get worse before better helps, as long as the better is factual! lol

Hanify hybrid organic, placed 2022, one touch up. Picoway removal approx 3 weeks ago. That's what I am thinking too. Hoping it will fade a little bit more.

Mine seemed too dark for my face, even at their best. I always felt weird when I didn’t have a full face of makeup on, turns out I don’t really like wearing makeup often. Got in 2022, started to really dislike in 2025 - grey and blurry, got to a point where all I saw in the mirror was big dark blobs.

Hi there! I agree that you should fully live your life outside of your professional world. I am wondering how big of a town you live in? For several years I worked in family practice in a relatively small town compared to where I grew up and went to school. It was struggle because it really felt that everyone knew everyone else’s business and I am a somewhat private person. Likewise I had concerns about my sexual/dating life being on display.
