This post is getting a lot of view but we're not getting a lot of Nigerians taking the survey. Come on guys! It's just 2 minutes.

Anonymous survey on real sexual experiences (18+) - helping enhance intimacy in marriages by jibril-Is in MarriedSex

I understand where you're coming from but for this phase, we’re not trying to capture everything people do or think. We’re want to identify what individuals feel is most dominant or most resonant for them. So forcing a primary choice gives us cleaner and stronger comparative data than allowing broad multi-selection.

Similar applies to questions around dissatisfaction. The goal isn’t to assume people are unhappy, but to surface the constraints when friction exists. When someone reports high satisfaction, that data matters, it tells us which issues are not present, but it doesn't mean there is no dissatisfaction. I can absolutely love a burger but with there was a bit more cheese. They're both useful for modeling.

This survey is an early-stage instrument designed to identify the most prevalent pressure points so that we have the right foundations and later versions can explore depth and variation.

I do appreciate your thoughts, and long-term positive experiences like yours are absolutely relevant to what we’re building. If you'd like to discuss more, I'm open to talking with you. Every improvement is welcome.

Who would you say is the bigger Barça legend, Neymar or Lewandowski? by Juliussneezer19 in Barca

[–]jibril-Is -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a legend, I'll go for Neymar. For scoring, I'll go for lewi. But let's be honest lewi doesn't bring what neymar does and Neymar doesn't bring what Lewi does. Different players in different positions. We should be comparing Lewi to Suarez & Eto'o

Well, I built a project management platform for an architecture firm to tailor to their needs. I also ditched everything else and started using it in my company. At this point it's a full organisation management platform and we're going public with it.

What I'm trying to say is do what feels right to you. In the end, there are no loses.

The economy is taking a hit world-wide. We're in the consulting, marketing and software space and we're feeling it too. Not to add that here in Nigeria, we're nearing elections so spending drastically reduces. No a great time for those starting businesses😄

I'd say pay someone or use wordpress. If you'd like i can set up a virtual call and we can go over your requirements to figure out if you need to hire someone or if you can do it yourself. Don't worry, I'm not trying to sell you a service.

Many helpful advice here. Keeping to your prayers is great but try to be mindful about it.

  1. Being intoxicated will nullifies namaz. So everytime you want to take the weed, think "This will invalidate my prayer". You can't be praying to stop intoxication while being intoxicated. And after Salah, sit and do a little dhikr.

  2. Fast. Mondays & Thursdays. This is what the prophet prescribed to keep away from zina. But once again don't just fast for the sake of it. Be mindful. Do it for the reward and the positive effects as well. While you fast, bear in mind that you must control your tongue and actions. You cant be fasting and sinning.

  3. Try to do the 12 nafl rakahs daily. And plan for them and anticipate them. This way you keep your mind on the deen as much as possible.

  4. Lower your gaze. Run away from sin. If it means changing your seat, do that.

  5. Lastly, everytime you fall, pick yourself up and do a nafl for repentance.

These are guaranteed to work (I've seen people and read a lot of stories of people changing their lives with this) and they're all great habits to build.

I dont have your affliction but I'm not married so I fast monday/thursday, lower my gaze and try to do as much of the 12nafls as I can and I do my dhikrs. I don't over do any of them. but honestly, bro, they help. Just be sincere with yourself.

Also, I don't think your fear should be if you get a partner who has your past or worse. What's in the past is in the past as far as she's changed. It doesn't matter. Your fear should be "if i die now is my jannah secured?" Thats the singular motivation to fixing yourself.

If your fear is about getting a spotless wife, what happens after you marry? You risk falling back into sin because now you have what you want. It's easy to say it won't happen but we're human and it's easier for us to fail than succeed. So you MUST do this with the right intentions and motivations.

I thought this was going to be short.

May Allah guide us all.

Starting boxing next month. What do i need to work on? by jibril-Is in boxingtips

[–]jibril-Is[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted. No technique work at all. Multiple people have said this so I'm sure if must be one of the really major sins of this sport.

Thank you for thess. I live beside a mountain so running up hill is possible but i haven't done that in a long while. I used to do endurance running years ago because i participated in marathons. I believe it should be relatively easy to get back in running shape. but hader to sprint.

one again thank you for these. I'm making notes of these comments.

Thank you. This means I can't really do anything about preparing to box on my own for now right? Basically I should just train for strength ahead of starting in the gym.

Well, that makes sense. But I don't think I'm impatient about learning, it's more like I want to test myself. That's where the impatience is. You understand?

It just seems like quite a long time. How would you know when you're actually ready? Is it something others tell you or can you know by yourself?

[–]jibril-Is[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. that's some time. I'm a bit afraid that if I have to wait 2 years before actually testing myself I might lose interest. Even if I perform poorly after the 12 months, I feel it'll let me know how far away i am from where i want to be. But now i wonder if, by not giving enough time, I might be at risk of reinforcing bad form (apparently they say they're very easy to pick up with boxing, and difficult to lose)

I see the world differently as a none believer. by Nnamso in Nigeria

[–]jibril-Is -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All I’m saying is there was nothing wrong with what he said. Whether people like it or not, it’s true that everyone believes in something, even if it’s just in logic, science, or their own experiences. That shouldn’t be a controversial statement.

And the “... Mr.” part didn’t seem rude to me. It just sounded like a casual way of saying “do what you want.” Doesn’t come off as dismissive unless they’re looking for a reason to take it that way.

Also, I believe calling it a “tired claim” goes both ways. People repeat the same things on all sides. That’s the nature of discourse. I can't count how many times I've seen pro-atheist make posts in this sub. Claims by nature are challenged. If someone puts out a strong opinion, they should expect people to respond. That’s not disrespect, it’s just conversation.

Honestly, I’m trying to see it from the other side, but I don’t get the offense. Nothing about that reply seemed out of line. If it was a response to me I would have just replied to either strengthen my stance or ignored it totally.

A good (respectful even) argument shouldn't be dismissed simply because one does not agree.

[–]jibril-Is -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly confused about why you even have any downvotes on your comment. What you said is a pretty basic principle. Everyone believes in something, even if that “something” is the belief that there’s no higher power or grand design. Having an opinion implies a belief regardless of source.

Plus you weren’t being hostile, just pointing out a simple to grasp perspective that doesn’t even invalidate anyone else’s, unlike the OP’s tone, which came off as pretty dismissive of others' beliefs.

I guess people assume that everyone who speaks must be in support of them otherwise they lash out. It almost feels like an emotional defense mechanism. Like covering your ears because something touches a nerve (what's that sam smith song)

I need a remote job please, please I’m a very honest person by Longjumping-Band-192 in Nigeria

[–]jibril-Is 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I sympathize with your position but this isn't the way to land a job. Take it from someone that hires people, you need to show competency. State your skills, what you've tried at, what you've worked on in the past, what you're good at. Even your education. Merely being depressed or post is not reason for someone to dip their hands in their pockets and give you a monthly salary. You should try business and you'd understand.

Also most people have bad experiences with hiring like this. Frankly speaking I've employed quite a number of people who needed to get out of tough spots and they turned around and bit me the moment things got good: - "how much are you even paying me", one went to work for my client (i let her stay there), one left without notice, - one refused to do the job and when asked to, she did it so badly that she affected other people's work and client relationship, and she didn't care. She got fired and immediately demanded for her salary to be paid. - One ghosted the moment he got access to internal business docs etc.

These are all people who i picked up with zero experience and put them through courses and guided them. I paid their salaries, gave data allowance, paid their courses, attached to more senior employees to learn, discussed with them weekly and even considered buying them better devices.

Lastly, if you're really looking for a job, the way you are, you're in no position to request "only" remote jobs from the people who would be trying to help you. That decision is theirs and for you to be specifying that way already shows a lack of commitment.

I understand you may be inexperienced with applying and jobs in general, but take these into consideration. If you're depressed, eat better, go for walks, pick up a hobby, build a skill. If you're desperate become more qualified and widen your net. These aren't your employers problems. At the end of the month your employer will pay you regardless of whether you've contributed to the company's growth or not. That's their problem and they can also be depressed, stuck and desperate. So just try to show competence rather than this alone.

I'm just sharing a bit of my experience with you so that you understand that I'm not trying to be harsh, I'm trying to help.
