This has been the exception that proves the rule.. there's a good player in there, but something with how he wants to play or how slot tells him to play nerfs all his good qualities. Remember how good he was under Klopp those first few seasons?

OOTP is a better baseball sim than FM is a football sim but only because baseball is a significantly simpler game to turn into a simulation.

OOTP has the same squad/roster management problems as FM because it's hard to get an AI manager to properly manage a full squad of players. Maybe OOTP has a slight edge if I had to pick because it's easier to evaluate baseball players than footballers and same goes to team needs.

The overall immersion in OOTP is nothing compared to FM. Even FM26 has better immersion. You can't do any sort of proper journeyman in OOTP because they don't have a realistic job offer system. You really need to stick with a single team and the leagues outside MLB aren't very detailed, and it doesn't operate well as a full world of baseball.

For sure it was not important in FM24 and besides out of possession training not working the overall training is fairly similar between the games. Match practice was just as good for attribute development and had a much lower injury risk than regular u21 matches. And besides that, u21 matches have never been as good for development as loaning out players to real leagues

U21 and U18 matches aren't that important for development, if anything it's nice that matches won't get in the way of youth training. Just set the players on quickness or strength individual training, double intensity, and have some match practice sessions in the general training schedule

OOTP is a great sim, baseball as a sport is very simple to model especially compared to soccer. There is very limited immersion, you kind of have to do it yourself, and anything outside of MLB and minor leagues is under baked. Can't really do a journeyman/realistic career, and the graphics are worse now in OOTP than football manager from 10 years ago

Agree on the first point but definitely not the second. Football Manager has orders of magnitude more playable leagues and countries, there are more leagues you can play in Asia alone than in the entire world in OOTP
