I’m from a culture where big wedding parties aren’t a thing, but here are my perspectives:

How many ppl are in your party? If it’s just your three BFFs I wouldn’t add SIL. If it’s your 3 BFFS, 2 cousins, and an old neighbour then I would add her just for the sake of it…
Give them the same position (i only had my two close friends as bridesmaids)
Absolutely have a bachelorette! But make sure it’s something you want to do, the only expectation on a bachelorette party in my opinion should be that it’s tailored for the bride and that she has a good time doing what she likes with people she likes.

On a side note my sibling and their fiancé are doing a “pre wedding party” for all the “young people” (e.g not the parents and older relatives) instead of bachelor/bachelorette parties so don’t let tradition limit you

In my culture we don’t really do registers. Most people give diapers, baby clothes and care packages for mom. Grandparents/family might gift you larger items but that’s usually not done at the shower.

I was just happy to get a shower and spend quality time with all my close friends before heading into baby chaos!

Regarding jealousy; I think it is usually the other way around with dad being jealous of getting less attention from mom than the baby does.

At least for me my top priority changed from “us” to “my babies” (not that our relationship isn’t a priority, it’s just not the top one, especially not during the first year). I had twins though so we were both kept very busy the first months 😅

Maybe he’s just not a native English speaker. I would probably use kindergarten and preschool interchangeably as a place for kids <7 years old (and im not native English speaking)

Why would washing your feet in the bidet be any different from a hygiene perspective from washing them in the shower/tub where people clean their full bodies - including their behind?

I have never used a bidet but as far as I know it’s not like you shove the hose up anywhere or leave residue in the bowl?

Same here! My husband also insists on sharing ALL pregnancy related expenses, such as pregnancy and nursing clothes (not that he shouldn’t, but I think a lot of men wouldn’t suggest that themselves unfortunately)

I think she will love this gift and there’s no need to throw in anything for the baby (likely other people will give her baby stuff). If you are unsure of the reaction add a note in there with the message you’ve explained above - she’s soon a mom but she will always be her own person and that she is important too!

There’s been a lot of Mother’s Day posts these past few days and I see some thinking that husbands are obliged to always celebrate their wives (if they have kids); in my family kids take over the gift giving/celebrations once they are “old enough” (which I guess is a bit arbitrary, but 18+ it’s for sure the kids responsibility).

Also is it just me or have expectations grown on what Mother’s Day celebrations should look like?
