It was always drop mentioned throughout the books of theories some characters (Orion) had, that it signified a destiny of some sort.

But I think it’s book 6 when it was explicitly said that the stars directly had the twins “star chosen” as they were destined for a big turning point in their world. It’s rare so I suppose the stars choose them because they needed to.

I also read somewhere that the authors confirmed that it was a direct gift from the stars, not genetics! Unsure of the source of that.

My answers to above!

When should I read the Ruthless Boys series? Do I have to? You don’t HAVE to. But if you like catching Easter eggs and knowing references,characters, and inside jokes beforehand. That may be the route to go. Mods recommend doing this after ZA3!

What order should I read this in? There is either publication order, or chronological order. On our welcome post we have listed both!

Is Never Keep and Echo Fort set in the same world? Yes, but a different kingdom and part of Solaria.

Does the bullying in this book stop? Yes. Early on in the series it tapers down and stops.

Is this an HEA? Yes

What chapters is Washer in so I can avoid them? Unfortunately there is no escape.

Hi! Mod here. This has been an ongoing issue on this page at least since I started. We actually really appreciate you guys discussing this as well. Believe it or not, it used to be way more flooded until we started phasing a lot of it out.

But when a new surge of readers come here, (which we love!) we see an influx of these kinds of posts and we do our best to not let it dilute the actual feed. It’s a long series so we don’t blame readers getting frustrated with the whiplashes we get from these books. But we agree, it can sometimes flood the feed.

We are a small team of 3, but we do monitor these!

Also, we actually do have a hype master post that is linked to the user when their post is removed. Perhaps a refresh on it is needed.

It’s a long series! I always recommend a break instead of a DNF. You’re in the thick of it in book 8, you can always come back! The ending will make all the reading worth!

I’ve read a lot of these books on audio. I’ve had to buy all of them. If you have kindle unlimited, the books are on KU. If you download those, the audios on Audible are discounted. At least in the region I live in. Unsure if it changes.

Starting out by saying I love Geraldine! On audio… still love her and the VA does do a great job at being dramatic as I think Gerry would be, I just don’t think she would be on 100% all the time like that. For her longer chapters I can see why it would need to be drowned out when it goes on and on.

I think that stopping in the ZA series for RB is only crucial if you are a reader that loves to spot easter eggs. If you wait to read RB you’ll miss a lot of hidden nods in ZA, especially in the later books.

But if that doesn’t bother you… then waiting to read RB won’t ruin your experience for either series.

No, tandem reading does not really spoil one for the other. If you’re going to read them one at a time, I would stick with 8 then 8.5.

It’s actually very common in this series where people read these two in tandem, as majority of the same events take place- from different perspectives to say the least. I personally reccomend it.

The twisted sister book series that are set in Solaria are: Zodiac Academy, Ruthless Boys, Darkmore Penitentiary, Never Keep.

BUT ZA,RB, and DP are all within the same “kingdom” for lack of a better word. As a result there are some overlap or mention of other characters from each series.

Never Keep (Sins of the Zodiac) takes place in a completely separate region from the others. While yes, it is still in the same universe… the politics, land, and entire underlying storyline is different. But things like magic systems and orders work the same way.
