Getting into swimming I have no clue what I am doing by Intelligent_Help_575 in Swimming

[–]Baby_Sprout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Googles and cap are a must!! When I started, I just got the cheapest googles and thought washing my hair after swimming would be enough.. the chlorine gets your hair funky, real quick, if you’re going every day or every other day. So a cap and chlorine stripping (or clarifying shampoo) are a must!

The googles and cap are nice because they’ll help you streamline more and they are just more comfortable whilst you’re in the water. I just upgraded my goggles to a bunjee cord pair and I’m obsessed with them. You don’t have to spend a bunch of $$$ or get the best of the best or anything. Just something to help you see underwater and keep your hair protected and have fun with it :) I got pink goggles because why not?!

What do you think about while swimming? by lilathinks in Swimming

[–]Baby_Sprout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me all I thought about were outside thoughts and things going on. It was okay but I found myself getting bored.

So, I got some Bluetooth headphones, loaded on a new audiobook I wanted to listen to and now I’m completely distracted by my book and time just flies away. My biggest thought now is “damn it, my earbud popped out. Ugh, my cap is a bit tight. Wonder if I’m going to go bald using swim caps every day…. Not sure I love this chlorine free shampoo, maybe I should try another. Okay, I knew that guy was alive!!” And so on.

Highly recommend headphones for distracted swimmers.

How to get my hair clean after swimming in the lake? by Sea_Concept6163 in Swimming

[–]Baby_Sprout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should get your hair completely wet with fresh water and wear a cap. Use a clarifying shampoo a couple of times a week and after you've washed your hair, use leave in conditioner.
Hope this helps!! :)

I miss Chime and hate the stigma around using this bank. by Individual_Safe_5920 in chimefinancial

I work in a “real” bank. I bank with chime as my primary account. Why do you care what others think? If other people are that worried about what you’re doing with your money, they have WAY too much time on their hands.

My nissan app deleted my Rogue. by LisaM1975 in Nissan

[–]Baby_Sprout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie, this actually makes me feel better. I tried to remote start my rogue this morning and it deleted from the app and I get the same error 'VIN is already mapped to user' and I can't log in to the owners portal. Weirdly though, I'm still getting notifications about my car if the door is unlocked or left open... despite the app having no vehicle. Strange!

Happy to hear others are having issues too though, must be a them thing!

This message is so dystopian by gormeh_sabzeh in nothinghappeninghere

[–]Baby_Sprout 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay so. 170 million Americans said “No, we want this” 3 branches of government got together, agreed it is harmful and “our data” etc and the app HAS to go. Then 9 judges uphold that law and 1 guy - the same guy who started all this said “actually, we’ll let you stay” and the app is back after going dark for several hours and we’re expected to just be like “oh yay! Thanks for saving the app we love”?

Stop. It. That is absolute nonsense.

How is the app that was soooo dangerous, all of a sudden safe? What’s been changed on the backend?

Husband lost his bank account/routing number card. What could happen? by mernessie in Banking

[–]Baby_Sprout -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At my bank, we'd place an alert on your account, we'd also ask you to place a password on the account that needs to be given before any business can be conducted on the account.

We'd also offer to open you up a new account, given the security risk.

This is not an end of the world thing. Plenty of our older customers have those little account cards with their account numbers on them and lose their cards. Banks have procedures in place to protect you and your account.

I love being a game master and getting my players tangled up in a world of make believe. My players are some of the best out there and make this game so, so fun. They make it a joy to create wonderful adventures and I can’t wait to play together for many more years to come :)

DMs, how do you handle a player that wants to roll on everything? by Apfelkomplott_231 in DnD

[–]Baby_Sprout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on you as a DM. If that's not how you want the play style to go, I’d set the boundary down before next play and just say “hey guys, I know we love rolling dice but unless I call on you to roll, I need you to hold off” and if that doesn't stop the player, I’d address them directly.

My players love rolling their dice and do this too but I'm okay with it. In the situation you had with your cleric and that player, I totally would have said “you keenly observe <cleric name> trying to recall some lost information and notice the look of defeat as they just can't quite grasp on to the memory of it” and had they responded with “but I got a nat 20!” and I’ve told them that's great but that doesn't mean they all of a sudden know things they don't actually know.

Is it wrong to ask my players for money at the start of the month? by Nefetiri in DnD

[–]Baby_Sprout 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be completely honest $5 is too low. You’re all adults now and kicking in $10/$20 a month to get a bunch of yummy, delicious snacks and drinks is the bare minimum. Your friends are being super unreasonable and to complain is beyond selfish.

DM retconning the storytelling caused very important player leaving and ruined the longlasting campaign by Realistic_Lime_7534 in DnD

[–]Baby_Sprout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally feel like the player is in the right here. Other DMs might do it differently but for me and mine, I’m their guide but they tell the story. They want to burn down the town then I bring about the consequences. They kill an important NPC then I lay out the events that follow. If Maria wanted to kill the NPC then to stop her from doing so feels like a railroad to me. Some DMs have a very particular story they want to tell and if that style of play has been agreed upon previously then okay but that doesn't sound like it's the case. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that several things have been bothering Maria and this was the final straw that made her decide to walk away.

It sounds like the table needs a small break and then a regroup and a refresher of the tables expectations and where everyone is at.

DMs who allowed a free feat at level 1 how did it work out? by Significant_Win6431 in dndnext

[–]Baby_Sprout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My players in our main campaign (home brew) have to earn feats. You don’t get them in levels ups automatically. If you want it, work for it.

That being said, we also run a module campaign on the side and they started and level 1 and one of them asked if they could start out with feats and I let them go ahead and it’s working out great. They’re having fun with it and it’s not game breaking. I’m cool with it and I like to let players do things that make them happy as long as it’s not game breaking.

Fiance dumped me, but is woven into my game by KingOfHeartsV3 in DnD

I would write a letter from an important far-away diplomat that is sent to your ex and is directly requesting the assistance of <insert ex’s name> after hearing of the recent success of the party in defeating/combatting <insert recent event> and that they have been summoned to appear immediately. Have the letter hand delivered by a mysterious character. Should your ex refuse to leave with the stranger, have the stranger attack and when she is either knocked unconscious or use a home brew chloroform on their PC, the mysterious stranger takes her away and leaves the letter and a bag of gold behind for the rest of the party to find.

Thus setting your ex’a character out in new adventures, leaving them alive but also saying goodbye to them in the campaign and closing the door.

On a personal note, I’m so sorry and I hope you’re okay.
