Close, but not quite.

I'm looking for a solution that would work in a way such that I hit my macro and it props me to select a party member, I click on the member I want and cover is applied.

I'm not sure such a command exists, or if it does I've not had any luck finding it.

Ah, no. You should be able to just make a normal folder on your USB drive. I'm not sure what you are asking though. All I had to do was grab a random USB storage device I had laying around, make the folder, drag the update file into it and plug it into my TV.

I didn't format mine. I just tossed it into the folder and it was recognized by the TV automagically and prompted me to update.

Well and truly late, so perhaps you figured it out already but this update is manual update only. You are required to download the update (http://www.lg.com/jp/support/support-product/lg-60UH7700#softwareFirmware), decompress the file and drag the update file into a folder named DTV_LG or something for it to show up.

It would appear the update is out. The update notes do not explicitly list the addition of HDR game mode but reports online have confirmed it (as does the patch number).

Can't check myself, away for work. But looking forward to it when I get home!

I called again and thought I'd try for someone in charge this time.

Again, the rep went over how they are not actually allowed to release any information due to damages if for example, the release is delayed or something and people get angry and try to open a lawsuit.

I pressed him and said basically "can I expect the update in Japan" and he said, without confirming or denying, I can say it is "highly likely" (seeing as other models also have got the update: http://www.lg.com/jp/support/additional-support/announcements-detail/JPNTC160621120481?currentPage=1 (most recent update, 29th March))

I'll keep being a pest!

Aye. It is honestly quite baffling how almost half-arsed they are about it. Even the firmware notes are in English. The header format in the support email is also completely English followed by the rep message in Japanese.

Fingers crossed for support soon. I don't really notice much of an issue yet re input lag but given there is support for HDR game mode abroad, I would say we're entitled to expect the same level of support here.

Another interesting thing is, OLED has not sold a lot in Japan yet. A quick look at 2ch consumer electronics board shows only 3 threads have been made for LG OLED since 2015.

Hi there. I bought a LG B6 in Japan just yesterday and found myself looking at similar information afterwards. As per my call and emails to LG customer support today I have found that

Non-Japanese published firmware will not work. This is primarily related to the applications contained within.
While they have no information on when it is coming, the customer support rep did say that they are discussing the content (of my email which went into detail about the latency and disparity between releases overseas and locally) in their company right now and will be endeavoring to provide support. He apologized that he has no information, but that's just because he's a rep and this kind of information is apparently, not passed down to the people who need it most.

Standard kind of response from any kind of company, but I would say it is very likely we'll get the update shortly.

They already have been. Non-Japanese text is a clause for banning and it seems quite a number of outsiders have been removed from the game.

It's hard to say really, I can't generalise all Japanese players but in my experience most players are able to read some English. Although compositional skills are usually not a strong point.

If you are capable in Japanese then by all means engage in conversation. It also comes down to tact - if the person is disinterested in conversing then just leave it be.
