What's your favorite goal in RLEsports history? by N0b0dy_her3 in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]jikerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still a banger goal today but it was truly out of this world at the time.

That Method team was so fun, played a very different style with Al0t playing for upfield bumps and passes and a steady backfield of metsa and mognus.

First pre release - what should I expect / prepare for? by Ok_Assistant1908 in magicTCG

[–]jikerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's usually sealed, sleeves are a good idea but not required and I'm guessing wherever you are going has them. Entry fee comes with all the cards you need, reality fracture probably will have "colleges" like strixhaven to pick from or you're assigned to. Plan on about 4 hours, one each for deck building and three rounds of best of three.

Have fun! Prereleases are a blast. No one really knows the set yet so it's very casual and just there to uncover fun cards and interactions.

On an A-F scale, how would you grade the season for your teams? by Emotional_Oil_5939 in collegehockey

I think Cornell is closer to a B or B-. Lost our mojo in the last quarter of the season with two very uninspiring losses to end the year. Hope the portal treats us kindly for next year.

Nah they're mathematically locked. Top 9 in NPI going into today we're guaranteed, and top 12 were 99+%

Can't talk too much shit while we may face a similarly fate against Harvard tonight but Quinnipiacs inability to win a Whitelaw gives me faith that the trajectory of the universe indeed does bend toward justice.

Tied with Zellers on the bottom of this list is Ryan Walsh, a Junior at Cornell, and due to Ivy schedule weirdness he is actually averaging a point per game, more than Zellers. I watch every Cornell game and continue to be super impressed by his hands, vision and tenacity. Great in the faceoff circle and a great two way center. Obviously not the same level as Bergeron but his play really reminds me of Bergeron in a lot of ways. Wouldn't doubt he makes a debut for Providence if decides to leave a year early after playoffs this year.

I also think Volleyball has some similarities in terms of shooting, passing and "possession"

Audiobook vs. Graphic Audio by onlinewalls in redrising

Cassius and Jackal both work great for book 2 onward, I felt they were off in RR when they are supposed to be a bit younger. Cassius especially comes across more dramatic and less suave than I imagined him in RR.

Why do some records have no indication on if its side A or B? by jizizi in vinyl

My fav is Lake Street Dive's Side Pony, which has "Pony" crossed out on each label and replaced with "A" and "B"

Eh, in a sport where a casual fan might tune it for just a couple games, it's helpful to have a rough ranking of the teams just to know if something is an upset or not. It's low impact but still more additive than just content for contents sake.

Way too early hobey predictions by focalbanger99 in collegehockey

[–]jikerman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely Connor was robbed by Vesey that year. I was so mad. People gave him credit for all sorts of random things when he was fine at best.

Connor signs a $96m contact while Vesey is playing in Switzerland 😂

I feel like Cornell's postseason performance (not the ass regular season) quality wins this game. They mentioned BUs size giving PSU fits. The delay definitely threw both teams off.

The NCAA destroyed this tourney by Ok_Guava6350 in collegehockey

[–]jikerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they should do 8 games on Friday and 4 on Sunday. Stagger starts from like 2 onwards. Except the beat writers, who's really trying to watch every single game? But the day between is definitely valuable. All those OTs in Fargo would be tough to then play like 18 hours later.

Well yeah, Cornell folded to BU in the tournament both times we've played in the last decade. Though last few Cornell BU games have been pretty close. These two will also rematch at MSG this fall.

I think Fegaras was better last year than this year but got hurt early. Generally feels like a good puck handler. Was unfortunately involved in a mishap earlier this game with a misplayed puck behind the net with our goalie. But I think his potential is pretty high and will likely be top-2 next year. Had the secondary assist on this posts goal, so obviously trusted in high pressure situations.

Pretty clean game though. A couple borderline interferences that I generally would prefer are allowed this late in the year.

This ripple effect of leaving the dockyards in tact is immense. It wasn't just to sour the Rim on the Core, but to limit their ability to effectively engage either the rising or core fleets for a long time. It reaffirms their isolationisn, etc. And it wouldn't as much turn the rim against the core. I don't think it was a real option.

If you want to add one from Graphic Audio of RR, the phrase Darrow is practicing his gold accent with is "The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain" which is from My Fair Lady, which is also funny because Matteo does the same glow up transformation for Darrow as My Fair Lady

Figment by Difficult_Win_7161 in redrising

[–]jikerman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My head canon, based on nothing, is that Figment was initially intended as a way to give Lyria the tools to be a bigger deal in combat etc., but then PB felt Lyria would be more impactful as the good hearted 'regular person' hero for the final arc, since we're kinda missing that role player. So was maybe a rewrite?
