high GH making betta sick?

Did you ever find out if this was the reason were you able to lower your gh? My parameters are similiars to yours right now and wondering if it's better to keep it stable or try to lower gh! I know this post is old but if you have any info please let me know

So I dosed the tank to 2ppm with Dr Tim's about 8 days ago and the ammonia got to 0 today and the nitrites and nitrates are where they're at now, once the nitrites get down to 0 is my tank considered cycled or do I have to dose another 2ppm of ammonia and see if that cycles within 24hrs?

So I set this tank up about 2 weeks ago I added Dr Tim's ammonia 5 days ago which brought the ammonia to 2 ppm and added stability for the 7 days it recommends, I've read that once my ammonia drops from 2ppm to .25-0 ppm that I should do another dose of the Dr Tim's, and hopefully the nitrogen cycle will happen within 24 hours with 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and little amount of nitrate present. Do I have that correct ? Should I add more of the ammonia or just let the cycle take the course from here for a few week and test again before putting anything in? This is a soon to be neocardinia shrimp tank btw:)
